Re: San Diego Aviation Thread - 2019

I was talking to a friend who works at the FBO at CLD, that the runway could be easily extended. El Camino Real, which is the street on the east of the airport, could have a runway built above it. Much the same way Spring Street runs under the main runway at LGB. The land to the east of El Camino Re...

Re: LGB seeks to crack down on JetBlue slot usage

As a former LB resident, I was really happy B6 came to LGB! My first flight out of the airport was is a 152 or 172, couldn’t remember. Back in the early 2000s, I flew back from BHM-LGB via DFW with AA. Much better than flying into LAX or SNA. Back on the subject, my girlfriend at the time go to scho...

Re: San Diego Thread - 2018

I also continue to expect to see AS add SAN-JFK to their route map; whether they will then continue to fly to EWR remains a question. Do you think AAG will use its own metal or just codeshare with AA? My understanding is that AS cannot codeshare onto AA's SAN-JFK flight(s) as Kennedy is an AA hub. ...

Re: San Diego Thread - 2018

United will start implementing international 757s with flatbed seats on the SAN-EWR/IAD routes starting October 4th to compete with JetBlue's Mint product. Did a dummy booking on the website and was surprised that all three flights will have the lie-flats. B6 offers Mint on both flights. Of Delta's...

Re: San Diego Thread - 2018

I really think MCRD San Diego should relocate to Camp Pendleton. The recruits will visit Pendleton for 3 weeks during their training. By moving it to Pendleton, the airport can take over the land for its use.

Re: Most interesting Mainland to Hawaii Aircraft

My wife, her sis and her mom and I took a trip to Oahu back in the summer of '15. We had a choice to fly from SAN or LAX. The price for economy at LAX (more frequency) on HA was higher than from SAN (1x daily). So we flew from SAN, splurged and upgraded to premium economy; which was still cheaper th...
