Only concern with WSI as a code is if the airport ever gets US services.

Easy mistake for your baggage to end up in New Orleans (MSI). Probably less of an issue in today's automated systems.

Also of note in the 80s and 90s many of those services were 1/2/3x weekly, which was acceptable in those days as there weren't any other choices.

As the Asian, and then ME carriers grew, that wasn't acceptable, particularly to premium traffic.

The ownership structure of 3K was problematic, but to be fair, QF has had a number of financial issues over the past 15 years that they didn’t have the capital to really push the brand to scale. Probably ever. Can't think of a startup that hadn't had some used aircraft (Virgin Blue, Compass 1/2, OzJet, Jetstar etc)

The model seems a mix of JetBlue and Allegiant in the US - both pretty profitable airlines, but Aus secondary towns are a lot smaller and we lack far flung corporate headquarters.

Don't have an issue with the rebrand - as said above plenty with co-branding and other name changes have occurred before.

But with either spelling, both the airline and the country are on my no go list, thanks to their decision to continue to accept Russian tourists.
