Re: JetBlue Network Thread 2018

BTV and PWM wouldn't surprise me. At PWM B6's numbers have been slowly falling for a few years now. They've done virtually nothing in the way of expanding service at either PWM or BTV since 2014.

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN) - 2018

Noticed that AA has gone year round with mainline PWM-PHL. looks like most days through March have an E-190 on early morning and evening PWM departures. Curious what they will use on that route when the 190s are sold off starting next year. Maybe we'll be seeing more A319s into PWM.

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN) - 2018

In regards to PSM, a frontier rep said outright that the goal of PSM is to capture northern MA, all of NH, and southern ME. So there is some overlap with PWM's catchment area. They clearly don't see too much of a conflict. from a seacoast online article : ..."We are in Portland, Maine, but we a...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN) - 2018

In 2018 Frontier has expanded to PWM, BTV, and PSM. Southwest and Jetblue need to stop ignoring their secondary New England markets or they might find themselves fighting for leftovers. In what way is Jetblue ignoring secondary New England markets? They fly from PVD, BDL, ORH, PWM, BTV, MVY, and AC...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN) - 2018

Looking at the schedules for both PWM and PSM comparably: PWM-MCO flies on the days that PSM does not so no direct competition in Dec/Jan/Feb. However at PSM, Frontier will fly against the scheduled allegiant schedule. This will be an interesting dog fight even though allegiant flies to SFB. Both a...

still, definitely didn't see this coming

I said the same on the other thread. If the numbers are there for F9 with DEN and MCO they'll probably start TPA, RDU and RSW shortly after. I assume these routes would be starting in Nov. Very surprised they decided to start DEN in winter. I wonder if they intend to keep it year round (if they hav...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN) - 2018

I'm still crossing my fingers F9 decides to start MHT, its the type of airport they like to fly to and there's definitely a market for them to fill I don't think F9 would start at MHT. All that would do would cannibalize their PWM service. I can definitely see F9 at BTV. Winter seasonal BTV-MCO or ...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN) - 2018

Almost seems like WN is getting ready for a larger scale down of operations at MHT. I could easily see MHT being reduced to a similar level of WN service as PWM. 3-4x daily to BWI and maybe 1x daily or Saturday service to MDW or MCO. MHT is making money for WN. MHT in addition to service levels dro...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN) - 2018

Not surprised. One of the reasons I hardly ever fly WN is because their prices are always so much more expensive than everyone else. And on top of that I can't reserve a seat. I see no redeeming qualities for WN from either MHT or BOS, which are the only 2 airports I'd fly out of. Maybe they are mo...

Thanks, not sure where you are finding these stats but can you share PWM's enplanements for the year through July 31? The Jetport handled 925,000 for CY 2017 and with the increased numbers I would assume it will break it's record and easily surpass 1 million. From a PPH article about parking issues...

Not to be overly pessimistic about MHT, but what are the odds of UA pulling out entirely? In 2 weeks UA's presence at Manchester will be just 2-3x daily to EWR with ERJ-145s. That's a "token" presence if I've ever seen one. I think the chances are good. I’d never go through EWR to get any...

For the record, Manchesters MSA is nearly twice the size of portlands. Manchester metro area is 406,000, not 158,000. People like to make up facts when they’re fanboys of their airport. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchester,_New_Hampshire This doesn’t even include cities like Lawrence, Lowell,...

Portland is much larger than a typical city of around 70,000, especially when it comes to it's downtown core. It's land area of only 22 square miles will always limit the population count unless we annex South Portland which sadly will never happen. Portland's population peaked at 78,000 by the end...

I think that's a little bit oversimplified. I wouldn't exactly call the Portland area poor and working-class. Southern Maine is very demographically similar to New Hampshire, so if we can discuss the idea of MHT having TATL flights then it can't be too absurd to imagine the same for PWM. I doubt an...

we There is a building across from FedEx at PWM for intl private jets that are received before going to MAC or Northeast Air. They usually call about 15-20min out before wheels down.
