Re: Fly Jamaica 757 RWY excursion

1 crash does not mean it's the end for them. They have been fling from 2013 so that statement is rather short sighted from you. It can signify more difficult times. From an insider a year ago told me, they were low on available cash when they had issues and had to keep leasing planes. Currently, th...

Re: Jamaican Aviation Thread - 2018 (Pt. 2)

Any info what Fly Jamaica will use in the meanwhile, since the 767 is under C Check?

Will they contact their buddies at national airlines/ HiFly and see what's up?

Re: Fly Jamaica 757 RWY excursion

Half the fleet - damn, will be interesting to see how they survive, if they survive. And if they do, will be interesting to see how the magic unfolds as the 757 let them be pushed off into the corner Gate 1 at T1 at JFK since there arent too many open gate spaces for a larger frame when they come a...

Re: Fly Jamaica 757 RWY excursion

Let the massive delays begin for Fly Jamaica.
It took them more than a month to get back on time after one of their aircraft had engine problems.

Didn't their 767-300 hit something and was out of service for a while?

Re: Cayman Airways to Denver

Doesn’t have to be the MAX8 as they already have a 738 on the line that can easily handle this. I’d imagine the MAX8 would be run on new markets like the long rumored GCM-LAX. I’d expect this to be on the 737-800. I doubt the -300 has the legs. It will be on the MAX8. The 738 will be returned to th...

DL will begin JFK-PAP service every Saturday starting Dec. 22, 2018.

Re: Jamaican Aviation Thread - 2018 (Pt. 2)

BW is beginning a slow pull down of their Jamaica operations. YYZ down and now MBJ FLL gone. If another carrier enters FLL KIN that's gone too. Maybe just the JFK service will be left. BTW the notion that BW has to operate a minimum level of service into KIN is irrelevant. The gov't of Jamaica isnt...

Re: Jamaican thread - 2018

When DL operated the weekly JFK-KIN flights , the loads were not bad, but to be successful in a market as KIN you need higher frequencies and close connection with the Diaspora. DL did their research. Pretty much they will get the majority of affluent travelers. Am I the only one that's a bit worri...
