Spirit actually added more flights to ACY. Now up to 12. Pre-pandemic I think we were at 10. Would love for them to try PNS or be bold and try SJU due to the travel boom there. There's a travel boom at SJU? First I've heard of it. Thought they'd been doing pretty bad since Maria. Then again, since ...Jump to post
Here's a little throwback...to 2008.

Interesting anna.aero article from that time as well: https://www.anna.aero/2008/08/15/fort-l ... n-the-sky/
I actually can't answer this question but to change the subject a bit, it reminds me of how surprised I am of how many US airports still use those 80's style red-dot pixel display screens, instead of a full modern graphic fids display screen. For example I believe even LAX uses it at Tom Bradley ch...Jump to post
Hello...forgive me my sincerity, but having in mind that Airliners.net is a worldwide forum do you mind to put HRL in "plain words" at least once please...Many thanks in advance :) AngelsDecay, I understand. I've flown during COVID, but my last trip before March 2020 was STL-ATL and ATL-STL on Southwest (in January).
Since then, I've done:
STL-SAN, SAN-STL on Southwest
STL-ORD-ASE, ASE-ORD-STL on American
STL-SLC on Delta, SLC-STL on Southwest
What is your source that WN will fly Denver to Hawaii? I haven't seen anything on that. I don’t have a source they have said it many articles that they would use the max seven to do that route So where are the articles? Same question. And supposedly there are "many" of them. :cheeky:Jump to post
Hope they have ample turn times. That's a lot of folks to load/off load when you're new and probably contracted out. Looking at their published schedule, it looks like their turn times are ~40 minutes, which I believe is similar to WN. WN is closer to an hour now (like the legacies) but some 35/45 ...Jump to post
Looks like the MAX has finally made it outside Miami. I saw N338RS on MBJ-DFW today. I've seen some prior routes like (if I remember correctly) PHX to DFW. As far as I can tell they all end up returning to MIA. I was on one last week from PHX-AUS, which then continued on to DFW and subsequently RON...Jump to post
I'm posting the "historical" flightaware link here because https://flightaware.com/live/flight/AAL548 will only show the current flight that day.

saying “they should only bring in the best candidate” is a low key negative implication that a company lowers hiring and qualification standards to bring in women or minorities , which I hope is never the case. Good for United for trying to diversify their pilot workgroup with qualified candidates....Jump to post
Feb numbers. Passengers down 65% on the month YoY Cargo up 19% on the month YoY Also. New route map from airport (Missing Quincy though) Also no YYZ but that we don’t know when it is returning. Hopefully it is already out of date in the morning. It's out of date now. FOD got United Express flights ...Jump to post
DL will resume MSP-XWA (Williston ND) on June 5. Not very surprising since oil prices have rebounded and that's generally what drives the economy in that area. Flights have been loaded are bookable now. Looks like the schedule is daily on a CRJ2. MSP-XWA 1025A-1209P CR2 daily XWA-MSP 1250P-245P CR2...Jump to post
I'm glad this means at least service is going back (mostly) to pre-pandemic standards.

Now we just need American to eliminate the 900-mile limit on Y snack and drink service.
United's had 30 inch pitch on aircraft for years. American had it on the A319, CRJ-700, and more before Oasis. So I don't get why everyone bitches about AA like their cabins are a unique problem.Jump to post
What with all the recent adds from SRQ (CMH, GRR, IND, MKE, PIT) and the addition of STL-MIA and STL-JAX, I feel like WN will announce STL-SRQ sooner rather than later. I’m a little surprised it hasn’t been added yet. O&D on it isn’t great, I’m sure there is leakage to TPA/RSW and BLV-SRQ doesn...Jump to post
I wonder if WN got wind of this announcement ahead of time Typically they don't open a city with STL STL isn't the only one. MYR and HHH are not odd destinations for STL are people and I think that with people wanting to get out these are great options. We drove to HHH once.... ONCE :-) ATL BWI MDW...Jump to post
BA will offer LHR-MCO service soon, and EI fly to MCO and FRA. Those may be easier than connecting in a Northeast US City, DUB has preclearance facilities as well so might be a good bet. Probably more convenient than flying to MIA and travelling to Orlando I took BA on MCO-LGW and back in 2018. Nic...Jump to post

FLL from what I can see is down to 48 scheduled flights on weekdays with nothing international. The shift of attention from FLL to MIA is pretty amazing to see.
I don't get your complaint. For a random date in the beginning of May (Sunday, May 2), I see 1x JFK-PWM on Delta, 2x LGA-PWM on Delta, and 2x EWR-PWM on United.
A lot of other cities don't have these readily available choices right now. So yeah, you've got options.
Damn, looks like UA stole my April Fools idea.Jump to post
It seems to me that Southwest could order ~50 Max 9s for high demand routes. They could fit 200 seats and still not have to add an additional fight attendant. Would the 200 seats feature the 32 inch pitch they have standard? Do they even have even high demand routes year round to demand a large siz...Jump to post
There is about to not be much left for Air Choice One, all their EAS routes seem to be disappearing to other carriers. Shame to see one struggle, but having 4 different EAS airlines in STL seems fairly inefficient. There are too many EAS carriers period. How big of a market is it realistically? Per...Jump to post
CO used to also have a large narrow body facility at HOU (which they didn't even fly to) and HNL for widebodies. I assume they're still there. CO did fly to HOU and IAH both back in the late 80's early 90's. IIRC, they had something like 35-40 daily flights from HOU back then. UA still has some sor...Jump to post
I'm looking to book a Spirit Airlines flight with a connection on Expedia. This connection is not sold on spirit.com. When I check my bags, would the agents tag them through to the final destination?
maps4ltd wrote:Also, the NK flight to LAX on May 27 has a very optimistic 3h 5m block time. For comparison, AA and WN both block that route around 4 hours on that day.
Flying WN in/out of SLC - was not horrible, compared to the "old" terminal walk from the end of "B" or "E" - whatever they re-lettered the old terminal - the new terminal has moving walkways under the taxiway ala DTW McNamara, was easy enough. Nice that the new concour...Jump to post
Here is the report, and I found it very interesting. Very interesting indeed, but what is up with the writing in that article? It was totally impossible to parse. I stole a glimpse behind a United Airlines gate podium when I was at STL a couple days ago and saw this information on a laminated sheet. Anecdotal point regarding NK pricing:
I'm looking to fly STL-FLL and back May 27-30. Southwest and Spirit have near identical flight times (though of course WN has two flights a day to NK's one).
Spirit is $160
Southwest is $390 (lowest)
I was in SLC yesterday. Delta was initially not cancelling flights to DEN but cancelled them all mid-afternoon, right as I arrived from STL. As I was walking to bag claim, I saw some 100-150 people in a line trailing from the Delta customer service desk.Jump to post
Flew out of STL on a Delta A223 today. Goddamn, that thing took off like a rocket. We took off after using just 3000 feet of runway 30R and cleared 2000 feet before leaving airport property.

But O&D traffic (using local population as the denominator) doesn’t measure much about the actual traffic patterns of that population. CLT might not have any non-stop flights to HNL because even as hub there’s not the demand there and what demand there is better served thru DFW or DEN or SLC, d...Jump to post
Allegiant has the same model out of BLV, and it's a success. Plus, I'm pretty sure a good portion of St. Louisans already know about NK and its reputation. I think that $90 flights to Pensacola will woo people regardless. I feel like most Florida and Vegas travelers know the deal with ULCC because ...Jump to post
I've seen AA A319s parking at gate E2 over the past few months (Air Canada gate, but they're temporarily gone). E5 I haven't heard of.Jump to post
And keeping in mind free bags on WN. This is a misleading statement. No bags anywhere are free. The cost of two bags on WN is already built into the ticket with no option to deselect it. You can be angry at how WN handles bags, but WN routinely has similar fares to AA, DL, and UA which all have bag...Jump to post
Yep, I don't see how they are going to gain market share over AA, and WN without offering a competitive advantage on their FL routes, and good connections would have been one of those ways to do so. Hell, the local base even has more loyalty to G4 to FLL right now than NK SOOOO odd. I wonder if the...Jump to post
