Does anyone have a list of cities where SkyWest is proposing 7x weekly service to?Jump to post

Honestly, I think the answer to EAS in the current crewing crisis facing specifically regional airlines, the lack of new built aircraft with efficiencies to serve these and other factors is for the Federal Government to tie slotting at high demand/high revenue airports to service at the EAS cities....Jump to post
As a 9K employee, I'd love to see us bid for more, but the truth is we're stretched to thin. Only ~70 pilots in the whole network this month, with a dismal 92% completion rate for the month of April. Frankly, if I trust anyone for these new cities, it's Contour, with Southern and DAC close behind. A...Jump to post
Reminds me of this story from an OAK-OGG Hawaiian B763 a few years back.

SFO restart on UA pushed back to January…. We are going to have more flights to Germany a week than the Bay Area this summer. I wonder if that is more of a bay area problem and less of an STL problem. Didn't a bunch of people move out of there once WFH became acceptable I don't think SFO-STL has ev...Jump to post
Back in December 2018, I flew Southwest back from Orlando to St. Louis. The aircraft was supposed to be a 737-800 but was subbed out to a MAX 8 a few hours before boarding. I was elated as this would be my first time on the MAX. The aircraft was N8710M. Fast forward to February 2022. Again I was in ...Jump to post
Interesting that they are promoting this as “restoring their network” when all they’re doing is redeploying capacity. Meanwhile, F9 and NK are eating away their peace of the pie in Florida. I'm surprised that Mike wasn't in a calmer state of mind on 4/20.Jump to post
Volaris is very strict with deboarding by rows and I love it. So much more civilized. All mexican airlines do it since Covid. Its one of the only good things that covid left. Deplaning is done by rows. called by FA's. I have flown turkish airlines and United quite a bit this year. Over 6 flights ea...Jump to post

Last time I went through SAN (to KOA on Southwest in December), I noticed that there's a disused ground-level gate beyond security, called Gate 11C. It was quite a calm area to sit. Does anyone know the last time it was used?
Also, the Gates 1-2 checkpoint has been walled off.
Flew it once. ATL-JAX on Delta in 2019, N687DL. Purely by accident. We were supposed to be flying STL-ATL-BQK (first leg on an MD-88, second on a CRJ-200), but the STL-ATL leg was delayed due to storms in Atlanta and we missed the connection to Brunswick. Rather than spend the night in a hotel and f...Jump to post
EYW. I know why they did it, it's just not evident at first glance.Jump to post
I guess we'll see if WN has a schedule providing for adequate spare personnel and spare aircraft - or not. The fact that we’re early in the month and relatively lower demand (spring breaks mostly done) should be helpful. Whether those factors will help enough I don’t know. Cancellations for 4/2… NK...Jump to post

Following the delivery flight out of BGR on ADS-B Exchange and noticed that it's operating under LADD. Flightaware also lists N501DA as unavailable for public tracking. Why would DL want to limit the tracking data? The major airlines usually seem transparent about their aircraft movements. Plus the...Jump to post
Does SAN-KOA on Southwest even run outside Christmas and Spring Break? Because I took it in December and looked in January and it didn't appear to be running that month (same with SMF-KOA). Outside of HNL, Southwest doesn't look very consistent with their SAN-Hawaii schedules.Jump to post
My issue with EAS is they put them on flights TO Airports that CAN be driven under 2 hours... Use Southern Illinois.. I do not support MWA/CGI/PAH-STL/BNA, they can all be driven under 2 hours. I do support CGI-DFW/ORD/ATL or MWA-ORD/ATL/DFW or PAH-ORD/ATL/DFW (I am just naming Airline Hubs). If yo...Jump to post
Mainline: Technically the shortest: Southwest 737 COU-STL, 100 miles (SNA-STL diverted, this was the recovery leg) Shortest scheduled flight: LATAM Ecuador UIO-GYE, 170 Regional: Alaska (SkyWest) E175 STL-SEA 1,707 miles If someone can beat me with a longer regional I'll be impressed. I did SFO-STL...Jump to post

Being on the ground 18 minutes after starting the descent is fast. An unplanned diversion like that is high workload on the crew is not easy to do that quickly This actually wasn't a terribly steep descent as far as they go. From 30-40K feet it typically takes 20-30 minutes to get down, so 18 minut...Jump to post
Anyone know what all of the late night WN charter departures are for? 1 to BWI, 2 to BNA and 1 to ATL all leaving after 10:30pm tonight. Are the flight numbers 8---? Than these are ferry flights to get the planes to their respective airports for their flights tomorrow. Most flights tomorrow have be...Jump to post

We keep preaching Interline, and Cape Air offers it as does Southern. However look at MWA, Cape Air flies 6 flights. 4 to STL and 2 to BNA. Guess whose their most common passenger? Southwest. Interline doesn't mean anything to them. They still have to book it separately and re check their bags. My ...Jump to post
B6 has already dropped their SLC-MCO route for the time being, but I don't think Spirit has a chance on this route going up against the 800lb gorilla (DL). I wouldn't discount them just yet (no pun intended). After all, Spirit still serves the likes of ATL-MSP and ATL-DTW (both routes that Southwes...Jump to post

That's possibly because of the 11pm - 7am curfew in much of Kazakhstan. Landing at 1am in Almaty is not going to be a good idea in the next few days

Kinda surprised my airline (Cape) didn't go for STL and BNA. Then again, they've got a decent shot at this one.Jump to post
I would venture to say braking need is determined by runway landing, taxiways available, and location of gates. In some situations, MDW, BUR, SNA, heavy(er) braking is expected upon landing. At my former hometown airport, LAS, WN would generally be assigned or try for exiting 26L via Alpha 5 or 6, ...Jump to post
