Re: Boeing 797 Discussion Thread - 2018

The only thing that matters is ...are there customers willing to pay real $$ for enough aircraft to start the program? I still have my doubts. Who especially, are the launch customers? I'll set down my marker here, so I can be embarrassed by it later. This is my guess for NMA launch (both carriers ...

@lightsaber, it's incredible to think that CFM are producing 14 engines a week! That's a amazing achievement in my eyes, alas, I don't know how long it takes to build an engine. Any insight on that timescale? As for Airbus slowing down - that's not an option and I don't see it happening what so eve...

Are there any A330's, 787's or even newer 767's available for lease to help expedite the departure of the old 767's? As much as I loved flying AA's 767s on milelage-runs and trips, they just need to be retired sooner than the current retirement date. The sorry condition of those planes is a poor im...

Re: 100 passengers fall ill on EK203 DXB-JFK

Coughing and experiencing high temperature seems like air born transmitted disease. If it is food poisoning coming from say 1 out of 3 main courses, why only 10 people? That's why people are skeptical of Emirates' initial claim of food poisoning. The passenger who posted that onboard video told the...

This all could have been easily avoided if they'd just kept the 757 line open and updated it! Agreed. The whole MAX stuff I'm seeing is proof that the 737 MAX 10 is as far as the 737 design can go. So the aircraft that is comparatively overpowered, is comparatively overbuilt, has a very tight econo...

Wait since when is QF looking to dump the whale? I thought Sunrise was only about SYD/MEL/BNE-JFK/Europe non-stop. Anyway, I feel this one will go to Boeing. The 777X has the same type rating as their 787s, and, if they're looking to dump the A380, then the -9 would be a better replacement than the...

I don't understand why can't they just switch seats? They can just move one of them towards the front of the cabin and one towards the aft! It looks like a 737 flight, and even if it is a combi flight, there should be enough distance between them. I felt bad for the girl because flights to these re...
