Re: Updated: American Airlines Increases International Presence, Makes First Entrance Into Africa

I’m surprised that AA is returning to TLV. I thought the whole reason why AA pulled out after the US merger was because they didn’t want to pay the pension obligations for the former TWA employees who are there. It was discussed in this thread a few months ago: https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewt...

I just don't see what upside there is to wasting political capital on QR/IG, both hemorrhaging money. The consumer is certainly not on the US3' side, and now it sounds like neither is the government, so well done all around. Well, there are other more pressing matters in the ME and we need as many ...

Can't we just all be happy that all the sides are coming together to talk and try to come to a compromise that everyone can accept? That's how things should be. Sit down, discuss your differences and come up with an amicable solution. There is no need to bash or belittle anyone involved with the ta...

CAN it be scaled down? ...of course it can. With enough time/money, you can do anything in aviation. But that's the wrong question. The question should be: would a scaled-down 787 be the optimal design for that market mission ? THAT is a far more pertinent thing to be asking, and the one that Boein...

What is the definition of a ‘hub’ and ‘focus city’? I understood hub meant it was having aircraft and crew based in a city. But SFO has AA crew based there and it’s not a hub. Do note I am not American before you flame me for asking what might be an obvious question! There are hubs, bases and focus...

don't know why they kept on failing in HKG while AA as a late entrance can be successful in LAX & DTW. They have relatively good services and product images in HKG (compared to other US3). Are you not aware of AA's partner Cathay Pacific? DL to HKG is O&D. AA has lots on onward connections....
