I thought 4 engines didn't have any restrictions, I saw the path to CHC and was very southerly also...looking at flight aware and is coming in toward SA from a southerly position.

Don't forget SAA also flew IAD to Accra so another route UA will take over. Like all interested in 789 performance out of J'burg, flew couple of years ago on SAA 346 and they mentioned on certain days they still had to stop to refuel but not too common, so expect weight restriction + stop on certain...

I flew one of these from AKL - SYD rtn....wasn't a bad ride for a short hop, they use to have the cheapest fares across the Tasman. From memory this flight came from HNL and was almost the same timing as the LAX - AKL flight that continued onto MEL on 744....think this was back when United was the f...

As airliners around the world store planes in warm.dry.climates, as NZ moves into.it wet damp winter could.we see NZ move planes to.Oz .

Also is there a need to.do.regular maintenance on planes sitting..thought tney had to be careful.of the tires etc

Also op lease is not a balance sheet item so.no asset and no debt the op lease expense hits expense line in I/E, so depending on airline credit strength and cash they opt to do on lease than increase debt

Interesting times alright...was looking to come back early November....at the moment NZ still have the EWR - AKL flight loaded but expect this will be cancelled and routed through LAX or SFO...also to the point above was thinking if NZ would ban people coming from places like NY given the infection ...

I may be an optimist but i cant see NZ shrinking its footprint....yes it will take time to get to where they are say 30 days ago, but the demand will rebound once this all calms over when that is i cant say....being based in NY we are being toldnthe peak may not hit till July so i can see reduction ...

Thanks I get Y+, and just flew Econ Plus and at 6'4" a couple of extravinches is great...my only comment was meant there is some implied Y+ already with pitch different but yes its not marketed and charged more so just for status flyers... My only comment is with this will the try to crame more...

I dont understand this space seat concept.....usually on NZ the forwad cabin has a couple of inches in pitch compared to back cabin.....refer 787....so will the seats at front just come to space seats???

Being a Kiwi I agree on the express model, cuppa tea and biscuit is all you need on the domestics.

Was in Cape Town last year flying back to JFK through JNB.....the dinner meal on the CPT to JNB was better than JNB to JFK......wasted money

Dunno how long maybe 10 years but keep in mind flighys to all the main capital cities run a mix mostly WB but may have NB depending on time of day....to MEL the WB connects to all US flights both ways, they would have had the opp to fly up.front

Doesn't the SQ flight get some priority in EWR ? I thought so.

SQ uses Termi at B at EWR so expect NZ will also....i came through B recently and not a bad arrival experience not sure on departure

Living in NY I will add my comments as there is alot of EWR v JFK. Both are pretty good, and there is nothing wrong with C at EWR...Both are accessable to Manhattan by train bus taxi, but dont think EWR is double. I think is is all about UA sure there will be some connection but net they are in JV s...

Awesome non stop home.....pricing and timing will be interesting. As dome have mentioned not sure if tbey will use EWR as Europe connection. Most flights leave late afternoon and return mid day to late afternoon so maybe hard to connect unless you want a long layover. Think this will be more point t...

With the QF JFK to SYD completed...knowing only 40 passengers landed with 70 mins fuel left and took 19.15 hours is this not a good indication to NZ for there NY aspirations. In reading the thread on Delta's coup in taking 20% stake in LATAM and how they will leave OneWorld.....there was a comment that Qantas may pull out of Santiago.....nothing official on this and know airlines can have relations outside of alliances but eould be interesting if they look to Buenos Aire...

Yes i am a UA FF So star are really weak now in LATAM. Not opposed to flying through IAH but someone mentioned UA are using IAH as South America hub but its not that convenient for north east people due due to back tracking
