Looks like EWR-SDQ the increase from 2 to 3 daily flights will be year round, I searched in UAL app flight departuring in April 2020 and returning in may 2020 and still shows 3 flights.

Re: SY adds seasonal PVD-PUJ

Im Dominican and actually from PUJ Airport to Santo Domingo City is a 3 hrs trip by car, using public transportation could be little more as you have to wait for the bus depart and go from airport to the terminal. I dont think a lot Dominicans will board Suncuntry fligh for VFR, only those few livi...

Re: SY adds seasonal PVD-PUJ

Ok, ok. There will never be any VFR passengers on these flights, only tourists and it’s an all day journey to travel from PUJ to SDQ. I was clearly misinformed by the mayor of Providence, the airport CEO, oh and the airline itself that they all expect a mix of traffic on these flights. They should ...

Re: JetBlue To Launch JFK-GYE

that doesn't really change my point UA's VFR schedule out of EWR is paltry compare to B6 at JFK. Agree, if we talk about Dominican Republic B6 is number 1 from North america with almost 2 million pax transported last year, in the route JFK-SDQ B6 has 5 daily Flights, DL has 3 and UA has 2 from EWR,

Thank you for your geography lesson on GYE. We I said beaches of GYE im talking about the area around GYE. It will soon be full of American tourist do to the B6 effect. Re: JetBlue To Launch JFK-GYE

Only jersey side really is more convenient for EWR. I just can't see UA doing much EWR to VFR market routes when they don't even fly to KIN/PAP and have only 1 flight to STI/SDQ for most of the year. Actually UA is flying 2 times a day EWR-SDQ after Jetblue and spirit decided to open EWR-SDQ. In wi...

EWR has no slots. agree and disagree they do have for instance spirit was given slot to flight SDQ a few months ago, departure time is the key, 1:30 am who will their right mind will flight F9 at this time to SDQ, i heard they will be starting STI around the same time, jet blue does it from JFK Spi...

Re: Mexico city's new airport to be canceled

I'd also a agree, a large metro like Mexico City would be well served by multiple airports. No need for a grand colossal mega project when multiple smaller existing fields with expansion can handle the load. Oh, yes, and then what you will do when those diferents airports get the point of congestio...

Re: Mexico city's new airport to be canceled

I connected a number of years ago in MEX. Never again. I have a trip to South America coming up. One option was flying AeroMexico through MEX. They lost my business as I was never going to go through MEX again. Hello Copa and Panama City! Regardless of airport, transiting through MEX is not a good ...

The collapse of PAWA and the virtual demise of Insel seems to have opened up opportunities to many carriers, so...

Re: Caribbean Aviation Thread - 2018

I meant a downgrade in that SDQ is a mess: old, run down, poor customer service, A/C barely functioning, every passenger treated like they’re smuggling drugs. It’s the not kind of vacation experience that a lot of people are used to. LRM and PUJ are so much more tourist oriented. How long its been ...

That’s a big downgrade for passenger experience No, the flight before was Fridays MXP-LRM-ANU-MXP and now will be MXP-SDQ-ANU-MXP. DFW-SDQ is an interesting add. Back in the day when I was doing a lot of DR trips out of JFK, SDQ seemed like more of a VFR destination and the tourists were going to POP/PUJ. I'm curious what kind of market they're going for. Either way, exciting stuff for DFW. SDQ is definitely a VFR destination,...

Re: AM adds PUJ plus more Latin American destinations

For both LIR and PUJ, you arrive at 1500, and then all the AM flights to LAX, SEA, SFO, PDX, IAH, ORD, YVR, YYZ, YUL, YYC, etc. leave between 1500 and 1900. Punta Cana doesn't have non-stop flights heading to the US western coast yet. The upcoming AM MEX-PUJ may funnel these passengers to Dominican...
