Re: Inferiority in blue: ITA Airways longhaul - FCO-JFK on the A332, January 2023

How was the service? This was a big problem for the old AZ, in my opinion and that of the Americans and Italian expats I know in the Washington, DC, area. The flight attendants would regularly disappear after serving dinner on the Eastbound legs, whereas on other airlines someone would come by ever...

Re: Inferiority in blue: ITA Airways longhaul - FCO-JFK on the A332, January 2023

You actually did fly the original Alitalia. The A332s are all ex-AZ aircraft, and while many wear the new ITA livery, the interiors are those of the former AZ. The better plane to fly on ITA (AZ) is the 359. Fair enough, in fact all the branding, staff uniforms, etc were of Alitalia. I just made th...

Inferiority in blue: ITA Airways longhaul - FCO-JFK on the A332, January 2023

Here's a brief review of my experience flying ITA Airways on their flagship FCO-JFK route this past January. I had booked DEL-FCO-JFK-AUS through ITA, with the first two segments on ITA and the last on DL. ITA Airways 608 (codeshare: Delta 6590) Rome [FCO/LIRF] - New York [JFK/KJFK] January 5th, 202...

Possibly related to weight restrictions due to IndiGo's dense configuration?

Anyway, IndiGo is leasing Turkish B77W aircraft for these two routes with which the RKT stop will be eliminated. So it's only a temporary thing.

Thanks for the TR. Seems more and more airlines are opting for the QF "constant grazing" model of catering resulting in smaller meals in coach cabin. Yeah, and sadly some airlines still use covid as an excuse. On the other hand, airlines like LH were removing the second full meal on 10+ h...
