Re: IAD Airport finally bounces back

Right now, the goals for IAD should be to expand their international operation, continue UA's expansion, and find a suitable LCC carrier at Dulles. While WN only currently serves ATL and DEN nonstop from IAD, there are a few more nonstop routes such as IAD-DAL, IAD-BNA, and IAD-PHX that could be ad...

Re: IAD Airport finally bounces back

IAD is a relatively interesting story. Its rebound is obviously good news. I expect a transition towards less O & D and more hub traffic. UA is definitely going to expand their operations here. Re: Rumor: American to make huge announcement

Here is my opinion. Somebody in another thread said 3 new PHL Routes. My guesses are PHL-HEL, PHL-CMN/TLV, PHL-MXP. The Oceania shakeup will mostly affect LAX and DFW. I'm expecting DFW-BNE as well as LAX-BNE and/or LAX-MEL. The Japan announcement will probably be underwhelming and will probably jus...

Re: DC/VA/MD Aviation Thread - 2019

What's the new airline coming to IAD!? It is some resurrected form of WOW air. And there is some question if this is even an effort that will get off the ground. IAD said it hadn't heard about any new proposed service. So I would not put any stock in it whatsoever. Isn't Cabo Verde Airlines suppose...

It is on their route map once as a "future" destination. https://caboverdeairlines.com/information/travel-guide/routemap/ However, I don't see it in booking for Cabo Verde Airlines. Update: I found a series of tweets that hint at service by the end of the year. https://twitter.com/tipekus...

Re: Looking for Dulles IAD spotting info - hotels and stuff

The day is near. We're booked at the Crowne Plaza in Sterling for the weekend of 7/27. One quick question, my buddy is coming with me and he has never seen an A380 before....I see that Air France and Emirates will fly in A380s that weekend. Is there a specific runway they use at IAD? I see Mikhail'...

Anyone know why a La Compagnie 757 is landing at IAD in a moment from Bordeaux, France? I'm assuming not new scheduled service, some kind of charter?

It is a charter for a couple of French Soccer teams to play at Audi Field this weekend and next week.

The most likely routes for next year are definitely WAW-IAD on LOT Polish, TPE-IAD on EVA Air, or Swiss ZRH-IAD I was thinking Swiss would make sense, however United already serves both GVA and ZRH from IAD, so the capacity might not support an extra a330 flight. I saw something about it in the Swi...

I love these types of (x airline) should fly to (y unrealistic destination). It always makes me laugh. It is very interesting to hear about El Al and how they are using the 787. They are refraining from larger markets (ahem ORD cough cough) and they are going for the smaller destinations 1x weekly (LAS and MCO). Hopefully, the strategy and the subsidies pay off.

Here is my prediction for the slot allocation assuming that DL gets 5, AA gets 3, UA gets 3, HA gets 1, and NH and JL somehow split 7 to 5 or 6 to 6. UA: EWR-HND SFO-HND 2nd daily IAH/IAD-HND AA: DFW-HND LAX-HND(2nd daily) ORD-HND DL: DTW-HND ATL-HND PDX-HND SEA-HND BOS/JFK-HND or LAX-HND(2nd daily)...

China Southern isn't that surprising as they're relationship with AA is getting closer. Turkish is very shocking if they pull out of IAH due to their good loads. Wouldn't be surprised if they launched this with their new 787s.
