Based on what everyone has compiled, here is what I think it is: ORD-BOG(makes sense because Avianca doesn't' operate to ORD and also the clue about the individual typing the letter B makes sense) SFO-LIM(Alpaca/Llama Clue and BKK doesn't make much sense to me) IAD-LIM(IAD has told people to guess a...Jump to post
Any update on what's happening with planned new international flights? LOT has understandably only operated a handful of flights. Swiss was scheduled to start in March and Iberia in May, and now it seems questionable as to whether they will ever start. Were there any other routes scheduled to start...Jump to post
I found something on a Dutch news site about what they are cutting. It looks like they are cutting flights to Boston, Miami, and South America. https://www.bladna.nl/royal-air-maroc-s ... 30792.htmlJump to post

According to Senegal's Minister of Tourism, Air Senegal plans to launch flights between IAD and Dakar using their A330NEO within the next 6 months. What are your thoughts on the matter?
Right now, the goals for IAD should be to expand their international operation, continue UA's expansion, and find a suitable LCC carrier at Dulles. While WN only currently serves ATL and DEN nonstop from IAD, there are a few more nonstop routes such as IAD-DAL, IAD-BNA, and IAD-PHX that could be ad...Jump to post
IAD is a relatively interesting story. Its rebound is obviously good news. I expect a transition towards less O & D and more hub traffic. UA is definitely going to expand their operations here. Here is my opinion. Somebody in another thread said 3 new PHL Routes. My guesses are PHL-HEL, PHL-CMN/TLV, PHL-MXP. The Oceania shakeup will mostly affect LAX and DFW. I'm expecting DFW-BNE as well as LAX-BNE and/or LAX-MEL. The Japan announcement will probably be underwhelming and will probably jus...Jump to post
What's the new airline coming to IAD!? It is some resurrected form of WOW air. And there is some question if this is even an effort that will get off the ground. IAD said it hadn't heard about any new proposed service. So I would not put any stock in it whatsoever. Isn't Cabo Verde Airlines suppose...Jump to post
It is on their route map once as a "future" destination. https://caboverdeairlines.com/information/travel-guide/routemap/ However, I don't see it in booking for Cabo Verde Airlines. Update: I found a series of tweets that hint at service by the end of the year. https://twitter.com/tipekus...Jump to post

The day is near. We're booked at the Crowne Plaza in Sterling for the weekend of 7/27. One quick question, my buddy is coming with me and he has never seen an A380 before....I see that Air France and Emirates will fly in A380s that weekend. Is there a specific runway they use at IAD? I see Mikhail'...Jump to post
Anyone know why a La Compagnie 757 is landing at IAD in a moment from Bordeaux, France? I'm assuming not new scheduled service, some kind of charter?
Also number of departures isn't really a useful metric...seats available or passengers carried would be more accurate. 350 takeoffs in DEC 2018 from PHL on United mainline 130 ORD 678 miles 163 average number of seats per takeoff 74 IAH 1,325 137 84 DEN 1,558 155 62 SFO 2,521 149 255 takeoffs in DE...Jump to post
Isn't ICN basically confirmed with IAD and YYZ being the two airports battling it out for Swiss? I could see an ICN 4x weekly with YYZ 4x weekly and IAD 4x weekly. That way, the 2 aircraft freed up could operate all of these routes without picking and choosing between YYZ or IAD. Are you suggesting...Jump to post

Dulles has potential to significantly grow enplanements with the silver line provided there is an LCC committed to make the investment. Moxy? We'll see I have previously mentioned that WN could add more nonstop service out of IAD to additional beyond-DCA perimeter markets such as LAX, OAK, PHX, and...Jump to post

Here's an interesting tweet I found. There is supposedly a new service announcement in the next couple of weeks. I wonder what it could be. My prediction is that it is probably UA announcing the official start date for their IAD-HND service. Link : https://twitter.com/ghimlay/status/1140667123133505...Jump to post
A bit of news that has not been discussed in this thread as of late: Air France will be increasing their winter IAD service from 7 to 11 weekly with the new flight operating on Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday using A330s Source: https://corporate.airfrance.com/en/news/air-frances-new-features...Jump to post
The most likely routes for next year are definitely WAW-IAD on LOT Polish, TPE-IAD on EVA Air, or Swiss ZRH-IAD I was thinking Swiss would make sense, however United already serves both GVA and ZRH from IAD, so the capacity might not support an extra a330 flight. I saw something about it in the Swi...Jump to post

I love these types of (x airline) should fly to (y unrealistic destination). It always makes me laugh. First of all, DCA would not even get Berlin service even if the perimeter restriction was lifted. Secondly, IAD-LHR on AA is not going to happen. AA barely has a base at IAD. They only have CLT, LA...Jump to post

EgyptAir has proposed new flights to IAD using their 787-9 Dreamliner. The route will be operated 3x weekly, and the start date looks like June 3rd of this year.

SNA-IAD probably is not going to happen for a while considering they don't have Milwaukee or Memphis in their network from IAD. They don't even have Salt Lake City. However, who knows? It may happen. It doesn't surprise me that they don't serve cities inside the perimeter with nonstop access to DCA...Jump to post
Here is my prediction for the US carriers
DFW-HND (One of them IDK)
HNL-HND(One of them)
DL: HND-HNL or UA: LAX-HND

It is very interesting to hear about El Al and how they are using the 787. They are refraining from larger markets (ahem ORD cough cough) and they are going for the smaller destinations 1x weekly (LAS and MCO). Hopefully, the strategy and the subsidies pay off.Jump to post
Here is my prediction for the slot allocation assuming that DL gets 5, AA gets 3, UA gets 3, HA gets 1, and NH and JL somehow split 7 to 5 or 6 to 6. UA: EWR-HND SFO-HND 2nd daily IAH/IAD-HND AA: DFW-HND LAX-HND(2nd daily) ORD-HND DL: DTW-HND ATL-HND PDX-HND SEA-HND BOS/JFK-HND or LAX-HND(2nd daily)...Jump to post
Personally, I think that there definitely has to be an IAD route because of their recently announced Polaris lounge, though the first routes that come to mind are IAD-PVG, ORD-TLV and IAH-LOS/JNB or EWR-JNB.Jump to post
IAD to MIA looks to be seasonal as the last flight that shows up in the timetables is March 30th, maybe United wants to test the waters a bit?Jump to post
