You do realize reverse thrust does not reverse the flow through the engine. So it won't blow him out of the engine, It would suck him in farther.

Agree a full day of training in the sim would go along way to solving this and to drum it into the pilots heads. In particular those airlines who like to cut the corners in a fine way. 1 day in the sim may save 160 people!
