And despite the fact Ryanair threatened to cut the Edinburgh base, they have in response to Wizzair opening the new routes to Bucharest, Budapest, Warsaw and Gdansk decided to add extra flights to Budapest, Warsaw and Gdansk and have added Bucharest for the winter schedule!Jump to post
Up now loaded on Wizzair website, not yet available for booking routes as follow:
Budapest 3x weekly from 21st December
Gdansk 3x weekly from 19th December
Warsaw 4x weekly from 18th December
Bucharest 2x weekly from 23rd December
I heard on local radio this morning that Wizzair were looking at starting 4 new routes from November, these will be from Edinburgh, they were rumoured to be Warsaw, Bucharest and Hungary (no destination specified), any other ideas on what these routes may be?Jump to post
MOL was saying in a podcast that UK airports are now at risk of losing aircraft and having their base closed completely, I heard Belfast Intl, Prestwick and Aberdeen will lose an aircraft or most routes and Edinburgh, Manchester and Bristol will lose aircraft.

The reason maybe a B777-200 is because a B767-300 has a lot more premium seats to fill than a B757 so you would need a lot more people paying premium fares to justify a B767-300 or B767-400 but for a B777-200 you could use the high Y version. Great Dane Airlines started their new Aalborg route last week on E190 aircraft, we shall see how it does longer term now.
Also I expect next summer that Delta or United will upgauge the aircraft to a B767 or B777 on the New York route as loads have been extremely good at over 90% full.
Well Hainan have now stated the Beijing route is under negotiations as they consider wether to cut the route over the winter and resume in the summer, or to hand the route over to a partner airline. I wished they would use some of these to expand at some UK airports like Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham and Newcastle.
Good news though for Boeing and BA.
The new drop of area is just in front of the terminal building and is replacing the old drop off it has number plate recognition as part of the upgrade.
