That is Really not a surprise that they are using the 787-9. As it is wasn't the 787-9 to take over from the 747 when they retired ?

Re: B737 MAX should it stay or should it go?

The Boeing 737 max should stay. But only if they can get the issues sorted out with it. And in my opinion it depends if it is worth it for Boeing to keep the program running with airlines still deciding whether to keep there orders with Boeing or go with any plane like Airbus.

Like most people are saying it is to do with the demand along with fuel costs. I f the demand is not high enough it means there profit will not be enough to cover the fuel for the flight.

Re: The 744 at UPS

The average age of their 757 and MD-11 fleets is 25 years per airfleets.net, so I am going to guess they are comfortable operating frames for an extended period of time. The oldest 747-400F in the fleet is 12 years, so one imagines 5X will operate them into the late 2020s if not early 2030s. They h...

It might be worth calling their support line to see if they can charge you over the phone. If you booked a cheap ticket in Economy, you probably got a discount fare and thus cannot select your preferred seating. Alternatively, you should be able to select it 48 hours before departure. Ok I will try...

Hopefully small fleets of Jetstar and Tigerair planes will be based at SWZ for leisure and capital city flights, with a few QF and VA mainline ('premium') flights to and from MEL and BNE d...

C414 has 2hr range with full load and IFR reserves. But that assumes good fuel management. Looks like flight flew at 11k, why so low. My guess is fuel starvation 5 miles short, then loss of control trying to stretch glide it home. RIP I agree with that it looks like missed calculation on fuel and t...

I wonder what the most planes a transatlantic airline has on the other side of the pond? BA at JFK has to be one, Delta at Amsterdam? Virgin at MCO? AA at LHR? Or globally, we have QF at LAX and JL at HNL. JL at HNL. There was a 7th Jumbo not in the picture. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1794/4297...
