Plus, Europe out of BOS on B6 now looks laughable with Delta covering the map pretty well. Bingo. If B6 were to move to launch TATL out of BOS (presumably with 321LR), where would they go? SNN? DUB? MAN? EDI? LON? CDG? AMS? LIS? BRU? DL/KL/AF are already in most of them, and the strongest year-roun...Jump to post
Going for the B6 juggular at BOS... or at least their most valuable passengers Yeah...they were really successful putting AS out of business in SEA. :banghead: I don’t expect this capacity growth bloodbath to end any better for DL. A lot of BOS-based pax (especially business ones) are getting upset...Jump to post
Does this coincide with WN moving out of A?Jump to post

About an hour ago my spouse reported seeing a Delta jet landing at Hanscomb Field, MA. We were thinking, perhaps, it was a Green Bay charter coming into town but we had assumed most Patriots charters go through T.F. Green-Providence. Any insight into this? Celtics. Looks like BC is on AAY4405 to RO...Jump to post
I have it on very good authority the route is profitable. It certainly didn't start off that way, but over the past year plus it's been fine. It may indeed be the poorest performing long haul route from MSP (I don't know), but that doesn't mean it's not profitable. "Profitable" is a manip...Jump to post
So at the “ Ten year mark of DL/NW “. DELTA does what they do best....... dismanle previous footprint and rebrand. NRT the crown jewel of the NW Orient name, now a relic of times gone! The NRT operation made sense in a world where you had to fly a 747 to get across the Pacific, and with NW's limite...Jump to post
G-RAES, N711HK, and N717JL quickly come to mind as out-of-sequence vanity registrations carriers have operated.
N742PS, N744P, and N745VJ were re-registered when they received their heritage liveries, but I don't think any of the other heritage liveries at AA received special registrations.
I would just say it's an anomaly. There are very few transatlantic routes that are both thin enough to be need something smaller than a B752 but within the range of 737 or A32x. This creates a very small sample size.Jump to post
If WW and FI are going to be counted as transatlantic A32x operators, S4 should be in that discussion too.Jump to post
I think this is more a message to Boeing to move forward on a 757/767 replacement than an actual intent to buy A321LR. UA hasn't invested anything in the A320neo program yet, and eventually this may become a small narrowbody fleet at the carrier. Plus, I think they want more range than they would ge...Jump to post
Official announcement: https://news.delta.com/delta-continues-international-growth-boston-new-nonstop-flights-scotland Also looks like BOS-DUB will be upgauged to the 763ER, thus freeing up the 75S for BOS-EDI. Seems odd that they're putting 75S equipment on the EDI flight but not on the LIS flight...Jump to post
Lately the ride-share waiting lot has caused lots of traffic at the airport. The current lot is not large enough or well organized enough to handle the amount of traffic it has been getting. The tunnels are also getting worse and worse. But that is harder to fix. Something to allow the Silver line ...Jump to post
Got the opportunity to fly on the S4 A310 a few times. They were definitely tired at the end of their lives, but will be missed.Jump to post
A sad day, so few of these remaining in passenger service now! I have very fond memories of many flights on the MEA A310s back in the late 90s/early 00s. Yes it is now a rare bird in passenger hauling, hard to find if you want to fly on one. I believe that Air Transat is still flying it, but I don'...Jump to post
Why don't they depart planes from 4L? Does it inhibits the ability to cross behind to 9 and 4R? I also noticed that they were landing flights on 4L (I saw a DL A321 and a B6 A320 landing while I was waiting for my UA flight to ORD. They will only depart props from 4L, and will only land props on 22...Jump to post

Geeze, a.net manufactures a lot of drama. Let’s be realistic: DL didn’t end D1 service Obviously, the service from ATL wasn’t successful enough to return. But DL must’ve had some successful pieces and figured that it could retain those via a domestic 757, which would be more successful than a D1-co...Jump to post
DL has almost no spare widebody capacity for growth right now, so moving ATL-LIS to a route that can be served by a domestic 757 (which DL has no shortage of) allows them to add widebody capacity elsewhere This is an interesting hypothesis. What other intl cities are within range of Boston and suit...Jump to post
Didn't realize ATL-LIS wasn't coming back. Just checked and it's not loaded. What was the equipment on the route? BOS-LIS is 752 so a net reduction in seats. JFK-LIS carries all the NYC O/D, and BOS now connects everyone else. As far as European destinations go, BOS is in a better geographic positi...Jump to post

AC funnels a lot of Pax via YUL to Europe and Asia from US destinations and BOS is one of them. BOS-YUL on AC seems to be doing very well lately, looks like this winter all 5 daily flights will be operated by 76 seater CR9 instead of the 50 seat CRJ. They also do it over YYZ (and YOW to YHZ to a le...Jump to post
I think BKK is pretty likely. As for my favorite routes, I think QR GRU-EZE and EK GIG-EZE are pretty cool and interesting. Now if the flight is operated under one airline’s code but de-facto operated by another airline, on Wikipedia it looks like a 100% undistinguishable flight of the first airline. Apparently they planned to start it in 1993, but I can't find any other corroborating sources.
