Re: CX831 JFK-HKG is diverting to JFK?

As an ATC I have seen this before when pilots are trying to figure out exactly what to do without it being an emergency situation. Looks like they've either remedied the problem or are debating what to do before continuing on with the journey or returning to JFK.

ICBM Missle complex. I am totally onboard with an ICBM complex of some sort. In actuality, it’s a makeshift terminal that is attached to TBIT. I’ve been in there once or twice. There is I believe one gate attached. It’s been there for a number of years. I have actually been wondering for years why ...

I find that a weird observation and am interested in your thoughts on it. I noticed that too when I w...

I'm surprised by SEA-MNL don't think there is much demand for the route. The Filipino population in the state of Washington and especially Seattle and the immediate surrounding areas is the fifth largest in the United States. This route does not surprise me one bit. This is indicative of absolutely ...

Re: Qantas to reveal special livery on second 787-9

Did a bit of digging with the only concrete picture of that tweet which is the Qantas logo with the wings. Seems like they're using the first ever logo that Qantas adopted in 1930 before they merged with Imperial Airways. They're probably doing a modern interpretation of the Iris livery on the DH50s?...

The short answer is, they need the extra capacity that the 777X will offer in addition to keeping their first class cabin, since none of the -1000s will have a first class cabin. The 777X's will be deployed only to high yield destinations that need the premium traffic in addition to the capacity tha...

The worldwide market is there for O/D travel to and from the Philippines. I do not think a mega carrier the likes of the US3 has a chance of forming in the near future. The current state of aviation in the US was formed out of several key mergers of major carriers that had deeply invested roots in key airports around the US. For example, AA's current hub map in the US cam...
