Re: Rumor: AI to announce IAH-DEL soon

The energy industry generates an extremely large amount of premium traffic, and even roughnecks with GEDs get to fly business. Are you suggesting a roughneck with a GED holds a position at a company that pays Business class for them to fly? I’m not going to say that’s completely stupid, but it’s go...

Seriously, Houston....? What about here in Boston, better educated, more affluent...HARVARD...Boston College....Again, HOUSTON....? What an asinine statement. Some people never cease to amaze me. Anyways...I’m interested to see if the route will happen, especially w/ the strong rumors of eventual D...

They are developing a light rail network actually. One main line is done from certain northern suburbs to downtown, and another line is being built from downtown to the airport. Change takes time. We can’t just snap our fingers and create an incredible amount of mass transit infrastructure instantl...

Re: AUS eyes nonstop flights to 7 interc’l destinations: AMS, BJS, DUB, CDG, ICN, PVG, TYO

I used to live in Los Angeles 13 years ago when I signed up for this site. Texas has been my home state since 2010. People love to crap on Texas but I find almost no one knows anything about it. In my line of work I encounter people from all over. I met a girl from NYC that was scared to come to Ho...

So you're proud of your own ignorance? That's nice. As you must comprehend, I did not mean that comment seriously. But your question was just too tempting for me to resist. Besides, I thought you were a LAX dude. I used to live in Los Angeles 13 years ago when I signed up for this site. Texas has b...

So much ridiculousness in this thread... I’ve lived in Austin, didn’t like it too much, but needed to be there at the time. Austin 5 years ago is not Austin 2019. Anyone that puts down that city has zero clue what they’re talking about from an economic & growth perspective. This is obviously a w...

Guys - I get what you’re saying. What I meant was there is most definitely an Asia market for this particular area. I know Chicago isn’t northeast (I lived there haha) but he referenced connecting traffic from the NE. Edit: does anyone remember what the Asia flights were before the AA build up at D...

Re: Why did AA choose ORD as its TPAC Gateway instead of DFW?

Maybe Chicago is more of a major business destination than Dallas. It’s a confusing thread title but Dallas has already “won” the battle here by being one of AA’s TPAC gateways. Not sure why people keep chiming in to say why it should be Chicago instead of Dallas when it’s already been decided by m...

Re: Why did AA choose ORD as its TPAC Gateway instead of DFW?

Have you ever seen a map? DFW is totally out of the way for most of the country. ORD is a much larger metro area in its own right, and is a very convenient location for connections from the entire Eastern part of the US. DFW is out of the way unless you're connecting from the SE or Texas (not exact...

Re: DFW-HKG and adding more flights?

I feel like AA or CX could launch an extra 3x weekly flight. Premium traffic is heavy on this route. From what I've heard, there's a ton of non-revs on this route. There might not be enough traffic to warrant a 2x daily yet... given the increase in DFW-Asia with the upcoming HND slot. AA continues ...

Re: Could DFW one day rival/surpass ATL in total pax/ASM?

More gates could also mean higher frequency and regional jets. As we know how the US market are really scattered and required lots of smaller aircrafts to served. But of course capacity increase would be unavoidable. Also, dallas isn't a tourist destinations like LA or New York is. Most people that...

Re: Could DFW one day rival/surpass ATL in total pax/ASM?

Maybe, but LAX would give DFW a run for its money. DFW main problems is their geography. It's not a gateway to the US from Asia or Europe and it rely on Dallas and domestic traffic to grow big. LAX + JFK + ORD have the geography, economy and large populations. Unless AA would go all in and pull DL ...

Re: Unconfirmed: DFW to build terminal F which’ll most likely be international

Re 380 gates, I doubt you’re going to have a 380 to deal with 5 years from now. Probably even a shorter time frame once the AA/Qantas JV is approved. My guess is you’ll have dual 789s running to SYD and BNE or MEL. If the terminal gets the thumbs up this year, it would be done by 2025 most likely. I...

Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Aviation Thread (DFW/DAL) - 2019

As for non One world carriers, I could see Copa flying to PTY. That would be a BIG gate way to the Carribean, central, and South America. Not to mention that they wouldn't need a larger a/c, given that this is well within the 737's range - Allowing them to easily operate the flight daily, rather th...

Re: AA Considering A Return to India + Africa Routes

While all true, AUS doesn’t have the O&D traffic or connection network to support such a route yet. RDU will get India before AUS. Raleigh’s tech industry is more developed and a significant Indian population. Sorry this made me lol. As someone who has lived in both places, Austin is lightyears...

The only people that would back track from the west coast to fly AA out of DFW to HKG are your price sensitive backpack travelers (the most undesirable segment), West Coast cities have had many choices to fly to HKG for decades (CX, SQ or UA). Don’t exaggerate. Umm, please explain how it was an exa...

[threeid][/threeid] Well you do have the Texas cities but getting west of that you can go thru other hubs both in US and e.g. phx could do lhr, and of course from the west coast it's non stop. Mexico and Lat Am pax its not easy to fly thru a us hub easier in lhr fra etc. But the 788 is pretty small...

Are you sure that AA's 763s can't do it? It's shorter - albeit more east/west - than ORD-EZE, which they operated for a while, and it's also shorter than several west coast-Europe routes that others have done on the 763. It's going to be a 787-8 not the 767 on the DFW-MUC route. God bless em if it ...
