According to CNN "Gebeyehu Fikadu, an eyewitness to Sunday's fatal crash about two-hour drive south of the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa, told CNN that the plane was "swerving and dipping" and belching smoke as it came down. "I was in the mountain nearby when I saw the plane ...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines 737MAX crashes enroute to Nairobi

I think it's perfectly reasonable to draw conclusions between this flight, and the LionAir crash last year. ... Same stage in the flight envelope. Not at all the same stage in the flight envelope. MCAS, which was the final cause of the LionAir crash, can only operate with flaps retracted. No flaps ...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines 737MAX crashes enroute to Nairobi

Not at all the same stage in the flight envelope. MCAS, which was the final cause of the LionAir crash, can only operate with flaps retracted. ADD has 3.7km long runways. I don't see why would they need flaps for takeoff here Hot and high says they should. They have to take off with flaps. The 737 ...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines 737MAX crashes enroute to Nairobi

Time to ground all 737MAX, too many casualties. No reason for a grounding and an overreaction. Come down folks. Wait for the data from the BB and stop guessing... And please stop saying that the 737Max is unsafe in general. We don't now one single fact about the crash... people are so sensationalis...

Re: Erfurt + Rostock airports

Nah you have the cruise-ship traffic ( Wamos etc) and Lufthansa Aviation Training. Its a quite nice airport, where I've learned flying for my ATPL would be quite sad if they have to close the airport.

Re: Lufthansa CityLine to fly the A319

Normally the a/c of LH are quit modern inside. They are doing a really good job, when it comes keeping the fleet up to date. To be honest, I really cant see any difference when flying with a NEO or a 30 years old 320. Quite unique in Europe.
