Re: Chicago Aviation Thread - 2020

WN adding MDW-ELP nonstop service is a possibility once WN has more planes in its fleet with ELP being one of the top destinations traveled to from MDW that isn't currently served nonstop from MDW. The PDEW of MDW-ELP in Q3 2019 was 39 passengers/day, which is only slightly lower than the PDEW of M...

Re: Spirit Airlines Network Thread - 2020

Back in 2017 an NK FA I chatted with had said SMF, BNA and ELP were in the works for service within three years. Since NK has a presence in the first two airports already we'll see if ELP happens this 2020. If so I'm curious what destinations they would fly to. While I would not expect NK to have a...

I'm starting a thread in Polls & Preferences, however, about being able to consider TIJ competition for SAN on the SAN-ELP route by flying TIJ-CJS. There is nothing to stop an American citizen who, with the right documents, could cross into Mexico from San Diego (CBX even!), fly to Ciudad Juare...

Re: Spirit Airlines Network Thread - 2020

Is there a possibility NKS will soon become the top LCC carrier in the near future? Southwest is a good airline, but they’ve somewhat lost some of their touch in my honest opinion. A WN pilot told me to invest in Spirit stock. The biggest U.S. markets not currently served by NK include STL, SLC, SA...

Re: Delta Network Thread - 2020

ELP in Q2 2018 & 2019, Q3 2018 is averaged at 53 PDEW (106 RT) with a fare of $306.23. Most of this traffic is high yielding automotive traffic, so I think that it would be safe for DL to run this flight through their summer schedule with daily flights on an A319. A PDEW of 53 is a long way fro...

Re: Delta Network Thread - 2020

Speaking of potential A220 routes, why is ELP only served by ATL in the Delta network? I understand Texas is Delta's weakest point domestically post-DFW hub, but why is there not even a route to SLC? AA manages to pull in 5ish flights to PHX and 3 flights to LAX, and UA offers 4 flights west to Den...

While AA is currently the only airline serving CLT nonstop from SFO, UA adding SFO-CLT nonstop service is a possibility with (a) banking industry ties between SFO and CLT, (b) 18% of passengers traveling between SFO and CLT were connecting on airlines other than AA in Q2 2019, (c) UA FF's in the Sa...

Sure they could probably close off another pod of gates on C but I am not buying the Sky is falling rumor at DTW about closing a significant amount of gates or a substantial amount of staffing reductions. There are a number of gates that are -200 only and can’t easily be configured. DTW is posting ...

Yeah, these cuts/changes seem to have all been made since the weekend: SAN-ABQ/OMA/STL now end Nov 4 while SAN-ELP/MCI/MSP end Jan 6. The new SAN-RDM flight begins Jan 7. On Sunday's OAG thread none of these cuts or any of the adds coming later in 2020 appeared. I'll be curious to see what other ne...

El Paso and ABQ should have long enough runways, and would have the similar issue around parking as it seems PHX did. Anyways, pretty cool to see the pictures. I highly doubt either of those airports are qualified to handle an A380 diversion. A diversion of an aircraft that size requires more than ...

Are there any CRJ-200 routes from MSP on DL that could be added? I believe there would be some space in A/B to accommodate them. Well saying that would mean an airline has them to use.
