Re: Laughable DL explanation on checking carry on bags

Pre boarding announcement. "This is an early build Q400 with smaller than usual overhead bins. We will monitor those boarding and we will pull larger carry on bags aside to be checked in for the flight." They didn't. Then the guy seated next to me gets all growly with the FA when there was...

Perhaps that was Captain Len Morgan in the left hand seat? He was one of my favourite writers in a popular aviation magazine back in the early '80s.

Re: Bigger Q400 overhead bins available for retrofit

I fly with AC on a Q400 twice a week for work. I can't tell you how many times things get held up when people try to stuff those monstrous wheeled carry on cases into the bins. The boarding agent always announces they will gate check oversize bags for free, and no one takes them up on it. It's then ...

Re: Is it time for Cockpit Video to aid in crash investigation?

Instead of this work should be done on transmitting black box data in real time to land based servers, which would antiquate the need of finding black boxes, which is often a miserable task. I read about this idea several years ago in one of my aviation enthusiast magazines. It was dismissed pretty...

Would think AC would put at the very least a CRJ on this route. To be honest? I would choose a Q400 over a CRJ any day. I fly with AC on a Q400 twice a week for...

Re: 747 First Flight 50th Anniversary

First and only (so far!) 747 flight. YYC-YVR-HNL and return on a Wardair 747-200 in July 1983. Chateaubriand was the onboard meal with unlimited drinks. We had the run of the aircraft as it was half empty, and we seated ourselves upstairs. The FA did not care and welcomed us warmly. That was truly t...

Re: Mad in Mid Air

Curious to know what the garbage consisted of. Was it wet, dry? Was it smelly and disgusting? The article does not make this clear. It also does not tell us the tone of voice used by the passenger to make the garbage removal request. The "I don't do garbage" line from the FA was certainly ...

Re: 50 year anniversary of the Boeing 747

My one and only 747 flight. July 1983 on a Wardair 747-200. YYC-YVR-HNL. We decided to seat ourselves on the upper deck even though we weren't ticketed for it. The FA's didn't care and told us to enjoy the flight!

It's also a cost factor for the LCC's and ULCC's to upgrade their systems in order to communicate with the other airlines booking systems. Some are entirely web based and have no way to connect with other systems.

Even without paint and engines this aircraft looks great. Re: When will US Pre-Clearance Facility Open At YTZ & What New YTZ US Routes Can We See With Preclearance

Is Porter still considering the Airbus A220 to fly out of YTZ? Or has the idea of jets from YTZ been shut down completely? Jets would certainly expand the list of new destinations for Porter.
