Re: Australian Aviation Thread - September 2022

I would still have thought we would see MEL-SFO again. Maybe BNE before MEL? Not sure QF need 2 BNE-LAX flights everyday? Move a few a week back to SFO? QF is reducing BNE-LAX to once a daily only at the end of October. They had planned twice daily but that got quickly reduced. I think right now th...

Exactly. Not another I heard it from “a pilot.” And if Thai Air Asia X is happy with the performance of the Brisbane route, they obviously have very low expectations. This route was due for the chopping block anyway. LCC’s do not make money with load factors less than 80%. Not one month of operation...

Thai Air Asia X has quietly pulled the pin on BNE-DMK. Services withdrawn (or suspended, not sure) from the 5th of April. This one I am not surprised. This flight was performing very poorly anyway. SQ may not want to add capacity now that EK is pulling out. The additional capacity added was absorbed at under 70% so there is some yield management that can be worked instead of adding seats. Again adding a 5th daily would dump 220,000 additional seats assuming they added another regional A350.
