Re: Avianca: massive BOG expansion in 2020

We'll see CDG, YYZ and SFO plus the two new Brazilian routes announed/started this year for sure. Next year we´ll probably see the return of ORD and BOS, and the consolidation of the new frequencies and capacity upgrades that have been launched throughout the whole network. New Spain routes have al...

Re: GOL suspends flights to MCO, SCL & UIO

Sad to see Ecuador lose their airlinks to Brazil. Really didn't expect the route to be cut that soon, but I guess a three-weekly operation about 5 hours long isn't that profitable or at least isn't for GOL. That route probably is much better suited for LATAM, but they have shown no signs of opening...

Re: TP new routes, rumors.

Thoise rumours are a non-sense, LIM ahead of BOG or EZE? CPT ahead of JNB? MCO and CUN ahead of MEX or LAX or IAH? Wil believe it when see it If I remember correctly, TP used to serve both BOG and PTY in a triangular route but they stopped it after a few years. Probably wasn't the best strategy to ...

Re: LATAM counterattacks AA: LIM-MIA goes 21x weekly

Current state of the Lima-Florida market: LATAM Peru (LA/LP): * 2 daily B767 flights to MIA (to become 3 daily B767 flights since June 2020) * 1 daily A320neo/B767 flight to MCO (the upgauge on some days came into effect really recently) Avianca Perú (AV) * 1 daily A330 flight to MIA (the current s...

Re: United to suspend EWR-EZE

Not so surprising after the primaries in Argentina and the imminent return of left-wing populism to government. No one knows with any degree of certainty what flavor of peronism is coming. Nobody knows if this guy Alberto Fernandez is really the candidate or just Cristina Kirchner's puppet, or if s...

Re: United to suspend EWR-EZE

Not so surprising after the primaries in Argentina and the imminent return of left-wing populism to government. Just think that the drop in the stock exchange in Buenos Aires is the second biggest in recorded history, just being beaten by the one in 1989 in civil war Sri Lanka.

This is probably the last thing the protesters wanted honestly. To see their Hong Kong reduce airlinks to the rest of the democratic world. Hopefully UA returns but the situation in HKG is unbearable and probably won't stay like this for long.

Re: Fleet and use of the Boeing 787 of LATAM Chile

As somebody said, the LIM-JFK flight is actually a SCL-LIM-JFK-LIM-SCL flight (LA530/531). LATAM's B787 operations out of LIM stand today like this: * The previously mentioned JFK's fifth freedom route from SCL (via LIM). * 5 weekly frequencies on another fifth freedom route to LAX (LA600/601). * 2 ...

Re: Jamaican Aviation Thread - 2018 (Pt. 2)

It was just a matter of time. Today, LATAM Peru announced that it will begin operations in Jamaica with new flights to Montego Bay from Lima, starting on July 2019: http://tnews.com.pe/latam-volara-directo-entre-lima-y-montego-bay-a-partir-del-1-de-julio/ (Spanish only) And in English: https://www.c...

Just entered the thread and apparently UIO and GYE are now in my country and not in Ecuador! LOL!

I wish JetBlue started more service to LIM, but kudos to them for having success in Ecuador!

I'm thinking these people who are claiming this is because of Brexit (when Ryanair is an Irish carrier with Irish-registered aircraft) are just looking for an excuse to throw s**t at the EU and their aviation laws.

Even with the instructions, I still don't know how to read it. Is this a good or bad thing for Lima's JetBlue operations? It looks like more service is being added, is that correct?
