Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Here’s a schematic of the new walkway to connect the North and South terminals at BTV. So it looks like the walkway will in fact go right through the 2nd floor offices, then punch a hole through the wall at one of United’s mainline gates. Is anyone familiar with the layout of BTV’s administrative of...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

HVN has just won the federal appeal court case involving paving the overruns on runway 2-20. The plan is to pave 1000 feet of the southern end and 400 feet of the northern end. This should go a long way in adding new airlines and flights while reducing the dependence on BDL and area flyers will hav...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

If the cancellation is NOT due to weather or ATC (which frontiers was not) all airlines have to get you to your final destination the same day as per the contract of carriage. Airlines don't get to pick their policies on that IIRC. I believe they have to compensate you until you get to your destina...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

I was in BTV yesterday. Frontier had cancelled the Denver flight that day. How do they deal with that? Will they rebook on united or other carriers or do you have to wait for days? Doubt there was room to rebook an entire plane on the next flight. I think that’s just the downside of depending on UL...

As noted in another thread, CapeAir is starting PWM-BOS In September. A bit funny that Portland got BOS service before BTV I know the BTV management is laser-focused on getting a Delta CRJ to serve that route. And on the day of F9's inaugural DEN-BTV flight, UA starts dumping a 737-900 on ORD-BTV. Sheer coincidence, I'm sure :scratchchin: The ice just went out on Lake Champlain, seems a little early for summertime capacity like the 737-900. To be fair the 737-900 you speak of looks like it came from 1972...

^ That sounds like a good estimate. BTV had 578,000 enplanements in 2017, an 8% increase would get Burlington to around 625,000 enplanements for last year. That would put the combined enplanements/deplanements close to your figure. Looks like BTV's record was 700,000 enplanements during 2009, so la...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

I don't have any data to back up, but I would guess that a majority of B6's customer base at BTV is O&D w/ JFK rather than connections. As far as connections I would guess most BTV-based B6 passengers are headed to the west coast; many redeye options from JFK to SFO and SEA, which are popular de...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Would anyone with insights on PWM be able to explain how the F9 DEN service is doing? Right now, the BTV-DEN flight is 3x weekly year-round. It seems like F9 is constantly dropping/adding routes. I'm just curious, what's the status of the PWM route? Was it first marketed as seasonal or year-round, a...

Re: New F9 Routes: BTV/BIL/BFM/GRB -DEN - 1/22/2019

BTV is an interesting add. It could do well, though I've always thought of VT more as a regional tourist destination. Denver for is a very popular destination for Vermonters. I imagine F9 is looking at the Vermont customer market and their demand for flights to DEN rather than BTV as some sort of v...

I'd love to see UA respond too, but I don't have any expectations of that. Why IAH? I don't think there's any real demand there. There is demand for DFW though, but AA has been retrenching, not growing, so they're unlikely to add a route. I wonder how many Quebec travelers the F9 flights are pulling...

Does anyone know what gate F9 is using at BTV?

I imagine something in the South terminal (Delta and Jetblue) as there should be more space there. I did notice the aiport is purchasing another passenger bridge in the next month or two so I'm wondering if that's for F9.

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

BTV's enplanement statistics are in for November (December delayed due to the holidays I'm guessing). UA still going bonkers, up +43% YOY while AA is flat. Delta's up too, though much less notable in an absolute sense. I think its just higher frequency, especially to JFK and LGA. B6 is still facing ...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Here's my optimistic and pessimistic scenarios at BTV in 2019 (and likely beyond). Given macroeconomic trends I do foresee some retrenching at all of our regions airports, so things may very well til towards the bearish scenario. Optimistic PAX continues to grow mid-to-high single-digits to ~1.45-1....

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN) - 2019

I will chime in on my 2019 wish list for MHT. WN restores non stop service MHT-DEN 1 additional daily MDW service or 1 daily MHT-STL and seasonal service MHT-FLL and or MHT-RSW saturday service. AA hopefully is successful on their MHT-ORD service that they add additional frequency. DL 2nd daily MHT...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN) - 2019

I think people are being a bit too bullish about all the growth there are expecting in 2019. Not everyone can have the growth many here are projecting. A recession and macroeconomic slowdown in 2019 is highly, highly likely—and it’s very difficult for anyone to grow in that environment (unless it’s ...
