UA did DEN directly for a little while, at least in the summer. As for NK, they have a pretty large operation in BWI as well and I think there are bigger fish to fry than competing with Allegiant and Frontier on leisure routes. I would expect to see UA serve IAH & DEN someday, and perhaps AA to MIA, but I don’t see WN going into MDT. They have 250 daily departures about 75min south @ BWI. And enough leakage is already going to BWI so no real incentive to add MDT. There aren’t many more opportunities for incumbent carr...

A quick check of up close seat maps shows that the front cabin sells very well. Filling the back end looks hit or miss. I'm going to guess that UA couldn't compete with DL on the terms of the contract and Corning pulled whatever they had with UA and they said the heck with it and decided to leave. DL flies up to 5x weekday to DTW on CR9s from ELM. They have increased their flights and capacity into ELM over the past several years. UA has tried ORD, EWR and IAD from ELM. I guess they couldn’t make any of them work.

If they do DTW-ORH, they'll also do ATL-ORH. That's just how it works folks. So that must be why DL’s flying 717 from ITH, ELM, etc. to ATL. Oh, and I read on a.net last week that DL informed ELM that in 2020, the 717 is being replaced with the A220. ITH has never had 717 or any other service to AT...

With BUF, SYR, and ALB now all either active or announced for F9, any chance we see ROC on the horizon for them? At this point, I don't see why not. NK probably won't do it. As I recall ITH has been a really dead market with perhaps 20% of the local market using ITH, and 80% of the market driving to other airports.
