I wear a Casio G Shock that works just fine and has some features useful to a pilot. For dress up I've got a couple of expensive watches that will go to my sons in the estate. Some pilots don't even wear a watch. No one cares. Do what you want.

Hivue, as I wrote before. The grapevine reports that the FO was flying a perfect approach. No need for a Go Around. The landing should have been routine. When SWA concluded their investigation the Captain was terminated.

It's a good question. A hard landing often buckles the structural elements of an aircraft. A landing hard enough to shear the nose gear probably broke some stringers too. They'll do a simple what it's worth vs what it will cost to fix analysis.
