I've never claimed to work for them. But how should they be turned in? Hold up boarding while names are collected for those who refused blue gloves? And turned into who? And I suppose this reporting should be done off the clock on the employees time? You think pilots are going to get their travel p...Jump to post
You must have never flown JetBlue. Inflight, B6 nonrevs , and B6 cobus all clean and turn the airplane. In fact you lose your travel privileges es if you’re a non rev and you bail on the turn. Which doesn't actually save time and irritates pax as they are trying to get off the plane and some idiot ...Jump to post
This is purely a cost cutting move it has nothing to do with shaving time off the turn and in the end it will only hurt B6 not help them achieve their goals. The same applies to cutting the cleaning crew down to 1 person on the turn, it will not improve turn times and passengers will quickly notice...Jump to post
elminating a single groomer seems like the wrong place to save a pretty small amount of money. if anything, adding more groomers strikes me as the better way to reduce turn time (if that's really the true motivation). pax of all classes quickly forget and forgive small things like snack or booze ch...Jump to post
I've been hearing rumblings of planes coming out of LCQ with insanely problematic QA issues with the new cabins, to the point the aircraft could not complete revenue service. Seat issues, lavatory issues, leaks into aft avionics bay... Anyone have details?Jump to post
As a pilot who flys CRJs in and out of LGA often, I would disagree with this statement. Yes the taxiways are restrictive and cause bottlenecks (especially around the terminal alleyway entrances), but the runways are still the biggest issue in terms of departure delays. Time and time again I sit 30 ...Jump to post
LGA isn't getting new slots so the runways will be just as overtaxed as they are today. And these gates are just replacements for the bus gates. This. The good news is that they will have double taxiways. As bad as the RWY config is at LGA, the TWYs and ramps probably contribute most of the departu...Jump to post

Tomorrow, I believe.
Didn’t we just axe a bunch of routes and cities? More??
CLT-JFK is cut in favor of additional CLT-BOS frequencies. It looks like on December 18th, AA will upgrade its 1 daily DFW-EYW flight from an E-175 to an A319. The route gains 56 economy seats and loses 4 first class seats. Yea but how many will be weight seats, DL just barley makes the 737 work to ATL with any kind of weather requiring an alternate, I can...Jump to post
Question is why is he leaving? Also it’s pretty quick as end of month. JetBlue did... Exactly, and B6 was competing against the lovable Southwest all those years, while Alaska was in the ez cripple category against the likes of fight club UA and too big to fail so we can be messy AA. Alaska will never have the national much less international recognition B6 has, despi...Jump to post
Why doesn’t B6 use gate 1 at MAT? There is no screen or JetBlue signage at that gate. There is a exterior ramp It used to be the Alaska gate, so B6 wasn't using it when they first moved to the MAT. Gate 1 has a very awkward and uncomfortable boarding area, so I would imagine it's a gate used as a l...Jump to post

So Baldanza knows jetBlue. Wasn't he a former Spirit Airline CEO? So just how does he know B6 won't do it?
Probably because he sits on the BoD.
tphuang, thanks for regularly sharing your great analysis. B6 is a mess operationally and has, IMO, poor leadership, but these numbers show that St. George and the other network/revenue management staff actually know what they're doing. They are single-handedly keeping B6 viable, and it gives me a b...Jump to post
I'm surprised it doesn't occur more often at major US airports which have become gate-constrained lately. One example is FLL. I have seen Azul board via busses on the Zulu hardstand. Why B6 does not use one of the many stands for boarding when gates are unavailable is beyond me. They'd rather make i...Jump to post
Yes a jumpseater must abide by sterile cockpit. No hard rule about when a jumpseater must be strapped in. I just find it hard to believe he was “standing and watching or learning” as you had suggested. It’s very likely he may not have been fully strapped in, however. I cannot imagine a single reaso...Jump to post
I agree with the people who have said the first and likely only option you'd see B6 try from ISP is Florida... low risk, established market, and it would allow them to keep market share from the region on those routes while possibly using a few JFK slots for something more exciting. I was wondering...Jump to post
It’s reasonable to suggest he may not have been strapped in, but not standing and “watching and learning.” Ok, I'm willing to be educated; what are the rules? With (passenger) seatbelts it is "whenever deemed necessary" by the aircraft commander. I don't think I have ever seen a specific ...Jump to post

I'm hearing rumors of a serious and troubling issue with the refurbished 320s. Something about new galley plumbing leaking onto the jackscrew, subsequently freezing and jamming the tail control. There are no US Customs and Immigration facilities at LaGuardia. Keep in mind, FLL is closing their main runway from June to October 2019.
