Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

Please forgive me for the intrusion on the college sports debate (always a great thing to have anywhere for any reason), but I do have a question or two for people who normally fly out CMH. 1. If you fly internationally, what airline do you prefer that flies out of CMH? 2. If you fly internationall...

Seems like the 737-900 would be a closer replacement. From what I see the MD-88 is at 149 seats and the closest is 737-900 and then A321.

To be fair, there is only an 11 seat difference between the two aircraft. 739: 180 v. A321: 191.

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

I still stand by that it could be stock footage. Check out this video starting at 1:19 lot's of paint rendering shots from 1991: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVlNf4Io2Do&t=3s But this footage doesn’t look like it’s from the 1990s. Why would UA corporate allow something "Confidential&quo...

Here's a new video with a Delta exec talking the LAX upgrade, the Delta One Suite roll-out and more. https://wayfarer.travel/wayfarer-tv-deltas-cabin-refresh-launches-on-sydney-flights/ Interesting that the exec talks 2023 for the LAX terminals 2 & 3 upgrade completion and also a new flagship l...

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

Not sure if this has been posted yet. Here's a picture of the AMS-SFO route launch a couple of weeks ago. Two things stand out IMO: the "AIRLINES" added to "UNITED" (like other A-nutters have mentioned) and the recently introduced pattern (of which I don't know the official name...

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

It's opening day for the white sox and UA's home plate ads are rather placeholder-y looking, and they've never used "airlines" on them before. Make of that what you will. http://i68.tinypic.com/ne7h3.png Continental’s logo was like that; the globe with “Continental Airlines” as 2 lines ne...

Re: Delta Aircraft Refurbishment Thread - 2019

Interesting news from Delta, especially regarding the new 764s. https://news.delta.com/new-paths-across-pond-delta-virgin-atlantic-serve-london-gatwick-boston-and-new-york-jfk-2020 It makes sense that the 764s will be frequenting London once more after they are refurbished. A few years ago the 764 ...

Re: Rumor: American Airlines to Modify Project Oasis Planes.

Random observations: 1. I don't think AA is about to bring back seatback IFE on the narrowbody fleet. A TV personality once told of a flight from New York to ORD, probably 5 or 6 years ago, with a United vice president who said that IFE might disappear, simply because so many people bring a phone, ...

Re: Rumor: American Airlines to Modify Project Oasis Planes.

If you look at an IFE from a cost-benefit analysis, it makes perfectly sound sense why IFE on domestic product is going away on UA and AA. All you Delta fanboys can crow about how much you and passengers love IFE now. But what everyone so far in this thread fails to take into account is how quickly...

Re: Should airlines ditch AVODs for inflight internet?

I don't like when airlines (or passengers) give the excuse that everyone brings a screen with you when you fly. Sure, that is true. But I also don't watch TV on my phone at home, I use my television and multitask on my phone. Ever need to respond to a text while watching something on your phone? You...

Re: Delta Wants to be NMA Launch Customer

Years ago when DL did a RFP for their WB needs, they considered the 777x a paper airplane and they weren't interested in paper airplanes. Okay. This NMA doesn't even have a designated model number nor is it launched but the same DL is suddenly trying to be the launch customer of a plane that does n...

Just found some more news regarding the A330-900neo! This is what the seating plan will look like. Apparently, they’re going 1-2-1 for the Delta One Suites. https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/delta-outlines-a330-900-seating-plans-456009/ If you see the slides carefully, the description lack...

Re: Delta Widebody Thread - 2019

This is a W19-20 issue as the lone 764 with D-Suite will fly as a spare during S19. If i was to speculate, the first few will likely fly on high profile TATL routes currently flown by 332/764. So ATL/JFK-LHR could be good bets. The reality is that all 21 764s will be converted in very quick order (...

Re: Delta’s A330-900neo Business Class product?

Back to the subject at hand. My best guess for the most efficient layout of 29 suites between L1 and L2 doors would be a staggered 1-1-1 configuration. This would make 10 rows with one seat missing from the center which would make more space for a closet, lav or galley. The Vantage XL exists on A33...

Hello, new here :champagne: Investor Day presentation indicated that the first "five class" aircraft would arrive this week (D1 suite, PS, C+, Y, Y-). Though Y- isn't a cabin. https://twitter.com/e_russell/status/1073219296623558656 In an August 2018 interview, Ed Bastian indicated that th...
