I would argue with the risk aversion to pilot layoffs coupled with public affairs sensitivity especially during an election year there is still probably a strong inclination to keep the airline overstaffed relative to current demand. I wholly agree that low TPAC fares don't indicate failed pricing r...Jump to post
Unpopular opinion here, I know, but are these long haul leisure/VFR suggestions really that far out? BKK DPS MNL OGG etc? I'm well aware that returns on those are no where near what ZNY-LON J/F are but these are different times. UA was selling SFO/LAX-PVG/PEK in Y for sub $1k rt pre COVID and that w...Jump to post
When this looked shorter like a year or two to recover this made total sense. Now it's looking like passenger recovery imho could be quite a ways away it might not make any sense to keep such large payrolls. It's pretty clear the airlines will have large layoffs the day this money ends. Kind of def...Jump to post
AA is really not at a position where it can blow a lot of money to exact vengeance. At this point, EWR/PHL look like they will be facing a whole lot of ULCC pressure. I can't imagine the current scheduled number of flights will all get flown on PHL-MCO. Also the more I think about it, EWR-MYR with ...Jump to post

As for the aircraft type, I suspect either a Boeing 737-800 or an Airbus A321. I think you are right, because of the distance the route is not normally served by mainline. Thursday AM however, AA ran an extra section on a B738 AA9245.... I would suspect that is the flight. https://flightaware.com/l...Jump to post

Their offers can get truly bonkers in dire circumstances they were offering 5 figure Amex gift cards in JAC last winter during the Christmas peak, I would imagine EGE and other premium destinations can see similar numbersJump to post
To be clear RE: the ASE flying it cannot be switched to a 175/900 currently due to local regulations, it is more than just an airport performance issue. Pitkin County has put specific regulations in place with a list of acceptable aircraft for operation from ASE. Until that changes the CR7 will stay...Jump to post
I would add the possibility of seeing SLC-YYC on mainline, probably, WS metal, currently it is just 1-2 OO/CP RJs a day, if the entire SLC regional operation is carrying WS codeshares there’s a lot of connection opportunities unique to SLC where SEA is way out of the way/not an option. AC and UA fun...Jump to post
I've flown AC transborder literally hundreds of times. I've never noticed an incident like that. Not saying that it doesn't happen, but I'm very sceptical that you've noticed a public spectacle of this sort on every single transborder flight you've taken in Canada.. Seconding this, with dozens/poss...Jump to post
N767SK is in OO house now as well. I’ve counted up to 4 in house, but I don’t know the other 2 N numbers. Correct, there are now 4. None is in any sort of longterm maintenance, in addition to the original N752SK "Waldo" I believe that N767SK "Nemo" is correct, I know N768SK is a...Jump to post
I'd say 4 or 5 slots for Delta is most likely, which means ATL/DTW/SEA plus one of PDX/HNL/SIN/MNL would also move. If they got a 5th, it'd be interesting what they decided to do with it. JFK seems like a possible re-entry, but perhaps they'd try and get a slot for SIN/MNL (probably SIN, but then a...Jump to post
UA 98 diverted to NAN for maintenance.

I know this isn't especially uncommon, but what does United do from here? Seems like a challenging situation given NAN isn't even a United station and resources are probably quite limited.
