Re: Australian Aviation Thread - July 2019

The first non-stop MAN-Australia service is about to land in PER. Admittedly it's only a charter with fewer than 100 VIPs on board but still a bit newsworthy. I'm sure this is the charter that brought the Man Utd soccer team, but would be great to know more about the flight. According to the MAN th...

The 787 has the ETOPS for it but whether or not CASA will allow it. Eg. LATAM can fly SYD/MEL - SCL non-stop with the Dreamliners no problem.

Poor Perth being left out of all of this - I guess we’ve set the record for the most AirAsia Indonesia aircraft on the ground at an Australian airport at any one time... 3 last night - 2 Bali’s and a Lombok.

There’s no QF A332 flights from BNE tomorrow could it be there to get refitted? How long would it take to get refitted? It was only on the ground for a day which see...

Anyone know why QF9 & 49 got cancelled tonight & why 2 dreamliners repositioned early Saturday morning? Looks like QF49 is operating. QF9 got cancelled in Perth after operating the leg from MEL so must have been a technical issue. The positioning flights resulted in QF55 being cancelled. Lo...

Re: Australian Aviation Thread - April 2019

Just a super hypothetical “what if” question - but does the 380 have the legs to do PER-Europe in the QF config? PER-FRA is shorter than AKL-DXB. I assume LHR would be restricted heavily. It wouldn’t be to do with range, it would be to do with profitability and the fact that Qantas will want to use...

Utilisation is down because it's not summer anymore thus decreasing utilisation for the A380 such as SYD-HKG and SYD-LAX this has now enabled them to be used for refurb.
