Re: Denver Aviation Thread - 2019

Here's a map of who has which gates and which ones are common use: https://www.flydenver.com/sites/default/files/pdf/DEN_InfoMap.pdf UA is too big to fit under one roof anymore, especially if they're planning to add 50 more departures next summer. Re: Denver Aviation Thread - 2019

I think I’ve read that only UA has so far been guaranteed the gates they’ve asked for, although I’m sure WN will get there too, they just committed to a new hangar. They have to get B finished so UA stops spilling into A and C, and then get the other carriers in C relocated to A as well. UA will co...

Re: Denver Aviation Thread - 2019

The airport posted the traffic report for September, there was quite a bit of growth, nearly 11% overall for September, 7.4% year to date. One interesting fact was that international traffic increased nearly 7% while capacity only increased 1% showing an increase in load factor even with the new int...

the bigger an airport becomes, the less user friendly it becomes. Great for the airport operator. Why would anyone want to fly to Denver, when EGE is much more consumer friendly ? Because EGE is 2.5 hours from Denver on it’s best day and isolated completely from Denver on its worst? EGE is not clos...

Re: DEN- How much can it grow?

2 simple things would create more train capacity from the Main Hall/Terminal to Concourses A/B/C: 1. Open up the A Bridge Pre-Check more often. It is often closed which forces all Pre-Check passengers on to the train after Main Hall Pre-Check screening 2. Expand the opening hours of the A Bridge Se...

Re: DEN- How much can it grow?

In the near term another crosswind runway and further extensions of the concourses would be nice. I'd say those are the two highest operational priorities to handle the growth. More trains will still help that problem though as it will reduce the number of passengers waiting/riding an individual tr...

They have MUST fix the train though.....that thing is a disaster and is already out grown. What can they do in that regard? Would a walking tunnel be enough? Re: DEN- How much can it grow?

Any expansion will require Peńa Blvd. to be widened. A big issue with widening Pena is that the FAA said the airport is not allowed to pay for it by themselves, since a growing amount of traffic on Pena is not airport traffic, the FAA wants surrounding cities to help fund the construction too. Whil...

If they did an east/west concourse, would everyone except UA/WN go there? If everyone except UA and WN went there would it really benefit UA that much? Yes, because they'd get all of A (except international flights) and B to themselves and WN would get all of C. Remember that A could still be expan...
