Re: China Eastern sets up Air 123 to exclusively fly home-grown Chinese jets including ARJ21, C919

The whole idea of "123" comes from the Daodejing, excerpted as such: "Dao begets One (nothingness; or reason of being), One begets Two (yin and yang), Two begets Three (Heaven, Earth and Man; or yin, yang and breath qi), Three begets all things." Well, that is actually unexpected...

Re: CAN, SZX gain renewed impetus to challenge HKG as air hub in Pearl River Delta

So basically nationalization. This would be an immense breach of the Sino-British Declaration of 1997. Not to mention, doing so would make China much less appealing to foreign investors, knowing what the Chinese government could do. Without massive economic changes, HKG will always be the highest-y...

CAN may overtake HKG in terms of traffic, but they are targetting two completely different segments. People come to HKG for work/pleasure or are connecting cos of the Airline (aka Cathay). CAN and SZX offer neither. But they have their own strengths are should focus on those. HKG decline (if it doe...

That’s true and I was one that didn’t expect to see ICN or TPE, however they are star hubs where KUL isn’t, maybe NZ could work closer with TG and add BKK at some point? I'd be less confident about BKK as an NZ destination given that any connection traffic would be at the expense of the close partn...

Remember, time is money. More than a few people describe themselves as "bi-coastal" these days, and would much rather enjoy shorter boarding times and easier, quicker de-planing than endure the many hassles of a bigger jet. I was so excited to ride a UA 777 from DEN to LAX recently...unti...

I have heard rumours now that QF or AA wants to fly DFW-MEL based on the success of SYD-DFW but DFW-MEL's distance is only a little shorter than PER-LHR. If AA fly's it it needs to update their pilot agreement. Plus the 789 in AA's config is denser than QF. I'm willing to be QF will launch MEL-DFW ...
