I just noticed that AI and UA don't codeshare on flights between DEL/BOM - ORD/EWR/SFO/IAD. Why is this the case when all of these are strong Star Alliance hubs and could offer seamless connections for passengers if there was a codeshare agreement?

While I'm not really sure about KLM, it looks like AF is currently more focused on renewing its widebody fleet.It has some of the world's oldest 772's and 77W's. I think they will look at narrow body replacements once their long haul renewal plan is finalized.

All of EKs 777-200s, and -200ERs were powered by RR Trent 800s, so it probably made more sense for them to get RR powered -300s as well. I've noticed that among operators of variants excluding the -300ER and the -200LR (Since the GE90 is the only option for those two), the Trent 700 seems to be most popular Surely you meant Trent 800. Why did EY do away with these? I thought it would come in handy since they have been cutting capacity recently. The 77L would have been a substitute for routes where a 77W was a bit too much.

Looking at the map, QR is gonna have a really hard time flying east to places like India and southeast Asia. They' can't fly over the UAE, and the Strait of Hormuz is being avoided since that is near where the drone was shot.

I think Qatar may actually get even with the UAE because Iran has supported Qatar in the blockade so it is unlikely Iran would ban QR aircraft and may actually give them a special exemption knowing how critical it is for them. I really doubt that it will get any tenser than this but if it does the ME3 will just have to route around the area. It is just part of the equation when doing business in that part of the world. As we all saw, a US drone was shot down over Iran earlier today. Also, UA is ending its BOM services for this reason.

I'm just eager to know how the gulf carriers, mainly the ME3 are going to handle this. If Iranian airspace is closed, EK, EY, QR are going to be pretty much grounded.
