Even before COVID, I noticed that MCO rarely got new routes as compared to their other hubs. In Florida, it always seemed that FLL was B6's main priority. And the MCO "hub" was more of an after-thought. Does anyone know why that is the case? Is there more competition out of Orlando? Higher...Jump to post
Pre-COVID, Did a lot of passengers on EK's DXB-SEA flight transfer onto Alaska connections? I highly doubt that dropping the partnership alone will make EK leave SEA. Just look at the geographic location of Seattle; upper northwest corner of the US. Aside from Portland and Vancouver, I don't see any...Jump to post
I wonder if they will suspend the TLV routes with all of the recent violence in Israel. AA suspended JFK-TLV on May 12 and resumed on May 24, just a few days after the ceasefire. MIA-TLV is still set to inaugurate in less than a week. Business Class seems to have sold fairy well. Wow. I didn't thin...Jump to post
It is partnerships like these that exemplify the need for a DFW-style skylink in airports like BOS, JFK, and many more.
Not that I expect that to happen in my lifetime, but this partnership and the AA-B6 codeshare just point out how helpful a system like that would be.
So will the MCO-MIA flight basically be flying with just passengers from AMS who didn't get off at MCO? Doesn't sound like a money maker to me.
This reminds me of Korean Air's ICN-IAD-BOS route over 20 years ago.
FLL never made any sense. Who in the UAE knows what FLL is lol? You do know DXB is a super connector hub and most people are flying in from other places, right? I for one grew up in FLL and live in SE Asia, so this flight was perfect for me. Also, I noticed quite a few people on the way back were h...Jump to post
My last vacation pre-COVID was from BOS to Florida for vacation in January of 2020. On New Year's day, I flew down to MIA on an AA 737. Then on the 7th, I flew back to BOS on a B6 A320. This was N595JB, the one painted in Boston Celtic's livery (Named "Lucky Blue"). How appropriate it was ...Jump to post
It is very shocking that even after a year of this pandemic, there are so many mask skeptics on here. That too on an AVIATION SITE. I would have thought that after a year of seeing the industry falling to its knees, people on here would be more sensible... I could not have been more wrong.Jump to post
So you've had the vaccine, you are fit and healthy yet you want to carry on wearing a mask? I will be the guy across the aisle who is pointing and laughing at you. Are you sure you would not be safer just staying in your house with the doors and windows shut? Are you not terrified of being in a roa...Jump to post
This thought has been looming over my head over the past several weeks. Even after the pandemic is fully in the rear view mirror (however many years that may be), I think I may still keep a stash of N-95's in my carry-on. I've been reminiscing over times where I've been sitting at the gate, waiting ...Jump to post
It seems that the Austin shooting incident that left 3 dead is an isolated domestic dispute. https://www.valleycentral.com/news/state-news/active-shooter-reported-in-arboretum-area-in-nw-austin-3-killed/ That aside, Is there a way for Biden to mandate background checks and a red flag law WITHOUT con...Jump to post
Is there a way for Biden to mandate background checks and a red flag law WITHOUT congress/ Because even with a 50-50 split in congress, I don't see legislation passing, considering that Manchin and Sinema are pro filibuster.Jump to post
Many airlines are going to device streaming since we all bring either phones and/or pads and/or laptops on trips. It saves weight plus the folks can plug into power ports so I don't agree AA was just slapped in the face. I'd prefer staring out the window to staring at a tiny phone screen for hours....Jump to post
A slap in the face to AA who just removed them from nearly all narrowbodies.Jump to post
It will be interesting to see how big of a drop PHX will suffer when AA closed the hub there. AA has not "closed" their hub at PHX. Whether they close it in the future, I've not heard anything there. Regardless, I disagree. The PHX metropolitan area is massive (10th in US) and is growing ...Jump to post
Yesterday, around 9:40 AM, UA219 bound for HNL on N656UA and UA202 bound for Maui on N642UA, made contact at the wingtips after the pushback was complete. Both flights were delayed 400+ minutes while equipment was swapped. While the severity of the damage is unknown, N642UA and N656UA may be out of...Jump to post
She was working in the working-class cabin, and it would seem the hijackers rose and attacked the flight attendants from outside the cockpit. Where could Amy have been to have witnesses their seats? What is it about the DEN area that makes it such a hotbead for shootings? Going forward, year from now as Austin continues to grow rapidly, can we expect that AUS be the only large major airport in TX that does not serve as a hub for a carrier? (Unlike DFW and IAH) All this time, I thought that DL would make it a hub, since they are the only one of the US3 to not have a T...Jump to post
May is when the US will be mostly back open for business. If you're fully vaccinated with the 2-dose vaccines, great - go do what you want to do including travel. I disagree with the CDC guidance on that (although agree with the JnJ vaccine; it's just not effective enough). Until then, and until 45...Jump to post

Probably, but it wouldn’t be nearly the size it was in the 2005 heyday.

I guess it's in a way good for CVG since DL can drop the excess gates owns, leaving more space for other carriers to add flights. But does this mean that CVG will lose the only remaining long haul, the CDG flight permanently? Also, is the RDU focus city going to serve as a base to relieve congestion...Jump to post
So I just saw that Boris Johnson is banning foreign travel until May 17th. Does this mean that people from other countries like the USA cannot take trips to London? Or just that UK residents cannot vacation abroad? If it bans foreign folks from taking trips to the UK, then it wouldn't make sense to ...Jump to post
I feel that this route is incredibly valuable for the A++ alliance. This would give the A++ alliance a tremendous boost from Boston, connecting all the major business cities in Europe: London, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich. I thought were a couple of city pairs that were available that BA had to give up if anybody wanted a couple of specific routes. LHR-BOS, LHR-CAI and I think there was another. Better question would be:
"How do Democrats bolster their House and Senate majorities in 2022/2024?"
GOP (RINO's spared) is a detriment to this nation. They should be the loser's for at least a decade before they circulate the idea of reinventing themselves and their ideology.
If they do end up serving MIA, a 787 or A350 would probably be right. Maybe in a few years they could do ATL? It would give QR some competition in one of the world's fastest growing metropolitan areas. Heck, maybe in a decade or so, they could consider sending a 787 to AUS a few times a week. But honestly after today's covid news I feel 2021 may be worse than 2020.
Will ATL and BOS ever go back to daily?
I'm surprised that IAH is going back to daily soon (March). Pre-COVID, IAH had the worst load factors of all their US flights (IAD was occasionally lower).
