Re: Penang Weekend Jaunt via TR and 3K

Back to Penang Airport to check in for the flight back on JetStar. There were no queues at the check-in counters even though the flight was very full. Coloured boarding passes were issued. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48814099697_cec307c70f_o.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/4881395157...

Penang Weekend Jaunt via TR and 3K

This will be just a short report on my last weekend trip to Penang, flying up on Scoot and returning on JetStar. Checked in via the self-checkin kiosks and boarding pass receipt issued. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48813521653_6808f25419_o.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48813521608_8...

From the airport, we took the local train to Oslo Sentral (the local train was half the price but only 2 minutes slower than the Flytoget Airport Express train). Stayed at Radisson Blu which was just opposite the train station. Huge and comfortable room with nice view. https://live.staticflickr.com/...

Re: Short Taipei Escapade on SQ Business

Returning back to Taoyuan T2 via the Metro, the SQ check-in counters were very empty, granted it was only about 1.5hrs before departure. https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1909/44921841082_08572e994e_b.jpg After security and immigration, we headed to the SQ Taipei Silver Kris Lounge. https://c2.staticfli...

Re: A trip through Middle Earth (AKL, WLG, ZQN, CHC on NZ and SQ)

On the morning of departure back to Singapore, we encountered a rare weather condition as very think fog rolled into Christchurch. Visibility was down to only barely a couple of hundred meters. We arrived at Christchurch Airport safely via the airport shuttle. https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1979/4391...

Re: A trip through Middle Earth (AKL, WLG, ZQN, CHC on NZ and SQ)

From Christchurch, we took the public bus to the city center. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Christchurch, which is a rather new hotel built over a previously office building damaged during the devastating quake. I believe the hotel is also one of the tallest, if not the tallest, building in Christch...
