LX should also add ZRH-YYZ to compliment AC YYZ-ZRH

And it's here...two weeks after LX announces ZRH-IAD, UA announces ORD-ZRH.
Excellent news! the only route that is needed is IAH-ZRH
Because the demand for Montreal and Calgary is very small and can be sustained with 1x daily from AC. YYZ on the other hand is a way bigger market and a bigger star alliance hub too. its home to the largest city in Canada and is pretty big for a metropolitan area (6-7 million people). YYZ can be com...Jump to post
Wait, if AC gets another HND slot for YVR-HND, will NH get an extra Canada slot that can be used for HND-YYZ?Jump to post
Canada gets none?!?!?! YYZ desperately needs service from either NH or JL, most likely it would be NH. It is the only major international airport in North America with many asian carriers but no NH or JL service and its been too long without such Japanese carrier service.Jump to post
if that's the case, NH has the opportunity to add HND-YYZ or NRT-YYZ! It's been too long that YYZ has been without a japanese carrier serving the airport, kinda makes me mad that both JL and NH are ignoring YYZ for so long... Will AC/NH also switch to YVR-HND and SEA-HND? (ANA already flies the form...Jump to post
YVR-ONT can be used for connections, YVR wants to be an asian gateway like SFO and LAX. Also I'm sure many in Inland Empire want a direct connection with Canada than always driving to LAX. Also ONT can be a cheaper alternative to go to SoCal than flying into LAX. YVR-SNA/ONT can happen along with YY...Jump to post
YVR-SNA/ONT can happen along with YYZ-SNA
lostsound wrote:Jump to postDaydreaming for YVR-BUR but it's never gonna happen lol
Kudos AC looks like the comfortable cabins they've been installing on the rest of their fleet.
Could YYZ-SNA/ONT be other possibilities for the A220? What other routes can AC pull off from YYZ with the A220? Can SLC come back or any other routes?Jump to post
So LX cancelled plans to fly YYZ next year?Jump to post
So is MSP-YYZ going mainline DL year round?Jump to post
Yea I was hoping for AC to turn YVR-MEL into a daily route, it's been awhile since it became 4x weekly and AC had plans to turn the route to daily in the near future. Also YVR year round would be great cause WS has a good route network out of YVR for domestic Canada. from LAX or SFO, you only get YV...Jump to post
Doesn't QF have 787-9? That's the perfect aircraft for SYD-YVR. AC serves YVR-SYD on the 777-300ER while YVR-BNE & YVR-MEL is served on the 787-9. I'm curious as to why QF can't make YVR work year round? AC can't be a monopoly... Because they firstly don't have an aircraft available to serve it ...Jump to post
With the new slots that NH is receiving at both HND and NRT, I was curious to know which destinations they are going to add with the new slots at both airports. So far we know Chennai in India and Russian destinations are in expansion plans along with Perth in Australia. Out of the announced new rou...Jump to post
YYZ has service from most AA hubs except for PHX. I'm not counting LAX cause LAX seems more of a focus city tbh. Let’s be honest, the only time AA adds domestic markets from Phoenix recently is when a competitor adds it first. Can you point out who just added PHX-CID, PHX-ICT, PHX-MSY, PHX-RDU, or P...Jump to post
I think YVR is a bigger trans pacific hub compared to SEA. Some SEA and PDX traffic go through YVR where DL loses traffic to AC. YVR has AKL, SYD, MEL, and BNE non stop. SEA has none of those destinations so AC takes the pacific northwest traffic away.Jump to post
With WS growing at YYC recently, I was wondering what other routes can they add out of YYC in terms of transborder and international? They got domestic covered mostly and with the recent news of WS and DL JV coming through, YYC could maybe have more routes added. Here are my guesses: Transborder: YY...Jump to post
Since they're targeting India to North America, NH might as well add YYZ soon. No Japanese carrier flies there and TYO-YYZ is currently underserved for a star alliance hub city like Toronto which is not important for Eastern Canada pax but Eastern/South/Midwest USA pax too. I'm sure the indian popul...Jump to post
I can see AC doing YVR-CTS and DL doing SEA-CTS.Jump to post
YYZ can give US connections too for LX, AC flies to a lot of US destinations from YYZ. what about US-connection traffic? LX arrives rather late in EWR so I assume less onward traffic. Their ORD flights are better suited since these depart in the morning and around noon. I'm sure they carry a lot of ...Jump to post
I heard YYZ is slot constrained but I never knew YUL was slot constrained too? I thought YUL is getting more growth in long haul and US transborder because of YYZ being slot constrained already. YVR has space for a lot of growth for AC I assume.Jump to post
Why do japanese carriers only need to carry Canadian pax on the Japan-Canada routes? They can use YVR and YYZ routes to carry American pax too for the extra demand to some American cities with no asia service like YYZ-CVG, YYZ-CLE, YYZ-PIT, YYZ-CMH, etc. The list goes on for YYZ transborder routes b...Jump to post
If a Japanese carrier started YYZ flights from NRT or HND next year with 2020 slot increases, which carrier would it be more likely to start a YYZ service and why? NH, JL, or both? I know I posted in the past about NH wanting to start YYZ next year from personal sources but ignoring that, I want to ...Jump to post
They'll even connect that flight to SEA, PDX, and maybe LAS/PHX. It's more likely TK is adding IST-YVR next because Canadian Air Transport gave TK 3X weekly to fly to YVR from IST. TK gets to start YVR before EK? What's the reasoning for this... AC giving the ok? One big difference between TK and EK...Jump to post
With the new configuration of the 77W, is there any new destinations that they can add by 2020 that can be profitable with this config? In North America I can only see them add YYZ next for sure as that is the only major star alliance hub left in north america that has Tokyo flights very under-serve...Jump to post
Go to Turkey Aviation Forum for June 2019, it's listed there. TK gets to start YVR before EK? What's the reasoning for this... AC giving the ok? The Canada/UAE bilateral only allows 7x weekly frequencies to all of Canada for both EY and EK to split. It's actually 10 weekly frequencies, as per the up...Jump to post
It's more likely TK is adding IST-YVR next because Canadian Air Transport gave TK 3X weekly to fly to YVR from IST.Jump to post
Well IAD has OS so I mean if LH group wants to expand their presence at YYZ, LX seems like a great add along with LH because OS left for YUL. Also YYZ has more passengers than IAD per year, I think double. Not only you got connections at YYZ to domestic Canada destinations but also a lot of US desti...Jump to post
They should rather consider that as charter!
yyz717 wrote:Jump to postAlthough AA has dropped the 1x daily 319 YYZ-LAX, they will bring back the route for one week only (~Sept 7-13) with the A321, to accommodate seasonal traffic for the Toronto International Film Festival.
Seems like BG is starting DAC-MAN-YYZ with the 787-8 either during the end of this year or early next year! I'm assuming it'll be 3X weekly as DAC-LHR is 5X weekly which is a pretty busy route for BG. Also below 3X weekly would not make the flight very profitable.Jump to post
WS could add YYZ-RDU with the Q400 Encore fleet if the WS/DL JV gets approved! This article shows how the Q400 can replace some DL connection routes 700 miles or less from Canada. https://thepointsguy.com/news/westjet-dash-8s-could-soon-take-over-these-delta-routes-to-canada/?fbclid=IwAR0QOGP6Mcev3C...Jump to post
