Does anyone have a video or the music to the destination video for each JAL destination when it comes to immigration/customs/transit. I recently flew JAL and loved the music on those videos but cannot find em anywhere.Jump to post
I'm curious as to why YVR is not shown as a SQ destination on their website? The route has also gone year round so I assume its a permanent route.Jump to post
If he is ill-informed, why was I able to announce SQ's nonstop SIN-YVR route before its official announcement? Even then you told me my source is ill-informed but SQ serving SIN-YVR nonstop became a reality. Going back to QR topic, the air service agreement is 11 weekly passenger flights between Ca...Jump to post
Please tell your source that he/she is poorly informed. Qatar has rights to 7 weekly flights to Canada and unlikely to change. They have rights to fly 11 weekly flights to Canada. They originally had 4x weekly which all went to YUL, they gained 7x more weekly flights to Canada which totals 11x week...Jump to post
Had a source tell me they had plans to fly DOH-YVR from March 28th, 2022 but then backed out of the plan for I do not know why as it's all internal talks in the airline. All I know is that they have 4x extra slots they can use on a 2nd Canadian destination which could be YYZ or they could again hav...Jump to post

QR has 4x extra slots to use in Canada for a second Canadian destination. Originally QR was supposed to launch 4x weekly DOH-YVR on March 28th, 2022 but plans have rather changed and I have no idea why this is the case as this is all internal. They would love to serve both YYZ and YVR but due to the...Jump to post
I wouldn't be surprised if AA added ORD/DFW-DOHJump to post
I have a feeling that YVR will become a permanent destination for SQ, the way that YVR's fb page has been marketing SQ's SIN-YVR route makes it seem like it'll turn permanent.Jump to post
SQ has extended SIN-YVR-SEA to March 26th, 2022. Seems like bookings have gone well and might become a year round flight.

I'm just referring to how CX failed at SEA, a lot of people think its covid alone but it was also the fact CX served YVR 2x daily and the connections through AS and preclearance were all reasons. TK adding SEA is a bad idea with them already serving YVR, easy connections to SEA thru AC. SEA is a lar...Jump to post

That might be a better idea than the potential IAD flight I suggested.
YVR and SEA traffic combined, there doesn't need to be any stops at ICN for YVR. This can be a direct non-stop route to SIN from YVR while picking up SEA passengers. The two cities are that close to each other that such type of route works for SQ. Also there is not a single place in Canada with a fl...Jump to post

The information is from a post by the Director Commercial and Operations at Swissport Canada. Its right on linkedin, the official announcement from SQ should come very soon. The route will be SIN-YVR-SEA, I just got word from inside the YVR spotters fb group. If true, that’ll be quite an interesting...Jump to post
SQ is officially launching SIN-YVR, a hiatus from April 2009. This will be a nonstop service with the A359. JL codeshares with WS so I don't see why they can't also have transit passengers for WS. JL will get a HND slot for Canada and WS will get a HND slot. AC/NH are already doing this. To be honest I'm thinking that ICN and/or NRT/HND are more likely at this point than anything China. My bet would be ei...Jump to post
Could say the same thing for YVR too. SEA-KIJ/CTS/SDJ/NRT might be within the range of the A321XLR as the published range of the A321XLR is 4,700 nautical miles (5,408 statute miles) and KIJ, CTS, SDJ, and NRT are all within a 4,800 mi radius of SEA. Here are the distances of SEA-KIJ/CTS/SDJ/NRT: SE...Jump to post
YYZ also has CX With no JV currently in place AA is not going to lease (because they would be fools to sell) precious slots to Porter. There is, but AA has a plurality of slots at DCA. DL and WestJet killed their mooted JV when the U.S. DOT demanded divestiture of just 16 slots at LGA. I don't imagi...Jump to post
I wouldn't be surprised if WS added YYC-ICN, lots of connections on KE and WS was interested in KE being their ideal trans-pacific JV partner. Also YYC has a decent Korean Canadian or Asian Canadian population that could fill up the flights, ICN has connections to everywhere in Asia. This gives an o...Jump to post
Could NZ make AKL-YYZ work if they codeshared with AC's European network? There is no Oceania flights from YYZ and NZ being in *A, they have a competitive advantage with AC as their partner. Also there is no aircraft that can fly BNE/SYD/MEL-YYZ, only AKL-YYZ is possible. I assume transiting in Cana...Jump to post
I recently noticed that EY is now flying AUH-YYZ 6x weekly but EK still flies 5x weekly with DXB-YYZ. I was wondering when the frequency of EY increased in Canada and why can't EK fly 6x weekly to YYZ too? Both are airlines based in the UAE and I'd assume they would follow the same air bilateral agr...Jump to post
Personally I'd fly DL or AA over AC anyday, many people out there that want options from other carriers compared to AC monopoly on these important business routes. Glad DL finally added LGA-YYZ, always wondered why BUF has LGA-BUF on DL or why YUL got LGA-YUL from DL but not LGA-YYZ.Jump to post

SQ is finally launching SIN-YVR again after a 12 year hiatus. Service will be non-stop on their A359 serving the route 4x weekly starting October 29th 2021.

DAC will probably get cut too With so much of the fleet being retired which routes are likely to be cut? Or will they keep the network as is and just cut frequency? Some I am thinking might be cut: - Denpasar / Bali (DPS) - Dubai (DXB) - Islamabad (ISB) - Karachi (KHI) - Muscat (MCT) In addition to ...Jump to post
That was what I was wondering too, like if LX planned to launch ZRH-YYZ, then AC can launch YUL-ZRH, complimenting each other's flights. I hope this condition helps more European carriers expand in Canada so that there is competition keeping prices down. SK can do CPH-YUL since AT wanted to launch Y...Jump to post
I do know that LX was limited as pre pandemic, they wanted to launch ZRH-YYZ but then AC stepped in and got triggered and wanted LX to operate only to YUL. So LX rather launched ZRH-IAD instead due to AC not wanting them at YYZ. It surprised me cause I thought LX and AC are JV partners? Does the con...Jump to post
