Weather has been very unruly at KEF lately, a lot of cancellations.

Actor René Auberjonois, known to my generation as Clayton Endicott on Benson and to the generation after us (and sci-fi fans everywhere) as Odo on Deep Space Nine , has died . He had a longer and more varied career than I knew about. Also his son Remy was on Mad Men . RIP Mr. Auberjonois. I also re...Jump to post
All afternoon and evening flights at KEF cancelled for tomorrow. Extreme weather forecasted, orange warning for most of the country, including the capital area and KEF and for the first time ever a red warning which is active for the north west part of the country. We're talking winds up to and arou...Jump to post

“Wow Air Berlin”?
So, it seems that the entity currently going by the name "WAB Air" formed by people involved with the collapsed WOW Air are holding a press conference tomorrow morning. Will be interesting to see what comes from this. https://www.mbl.is/vidskipti/frettir/2019/11/04/wab_air_bodar_til_bladam...Jump to post
Baltic mentioned too.
Icelandair is starting to ferry their 737MAX to Spain today. TF-ICN and TF-ICO are taking off from KEF right now. According to media they will be going to Lleida in Catalonia, Spain but FR24 is showing Shannon as their destination. They have a stopover at SNN due to restrictions And looking at the ...Jump to post
It appears that passengers on Wizz Air flight from Krakow that diverted to EGS were told to either, fly back to Krakow or waive their rights and figure out a way to get to the city on their own. Sounds reasonable. If Wizz chose to rent buses to KEF, then they might wait days or a week until buses w...Jump to post
I do hope that Isavia try to figure out a way to get bridges and stairs that can safely handle weather conditions such as these. This is the third or fourth time this has happened this year. With wind up to 166KM/100 MPH... not many things can stay upright in those winds.... Well the winds aren't t...Jump to post
Read the article below, it’s just to protect them from the harsh Icelandic winter OMAA https://www.icelandreview.com/news/theres-nothing-to-fear/ Thanks for the information. Icelandair have actually faced some issues in getting them to Toulouse. First the Irish and UK weren't sure about having them fly in their airspace. Then once that was sorted and they were ready to go the French requested the flightplans to be altered so they wouldn't fly over populated areas.Jump to post
Icelandair will ferry their Maxes next week to avoid the effects the harsh winter has on the planes. Interestingly they're ferrying them to Toulouse, albeit not at Blagnac. All permits have been obtained for the 8s but yet to recieve a permit for the sole 9 they have. Pilots to undergo thorough sim ...Jump to post

The ones I've only really stuck with are Paul Lucas and Noel Philips, they do both business and economy and I find them fair and point out both positive and negative aspects. Jeb Brooks is also pretty good. Sam on the other hand, I've always gotten a bad vibe off him, he was probably the first one I...Jump to post

OK....so I'm flying again and feeling a bit silly. I got an SMS asking for 30 volounteers to check in their carry on bags, I only have a backpack that goes under the seat in front of me. But I'm having concerns if this could mean they are having issues with weight balancing.......Jump to post

I have done in the past. Just few days ago I was on a flight with no issues. But over the weekend I had a relapse in my anxiety disorder and my fears are back. Glad you're calling it by it's name, an anxiety disorder. An irrational fear. As long as you keep that in mind, you'll be fine. Yes. I know...Jump to post

Looks like I'll be flying a lot of the time against the jetstream. Crap......doesn't that mean extra bumpy? It doesn't have to, turbulence actually has little to do with winds. Turbulence happens and it's inconvenient, but not dangerous. No plane has ever crashed because of turbulence. In fact, the aircraft structure barely notices it. What turbulence actually is, is moving air and the aircraft moving along with it. That causes the inside of the aircraft to shake. Like I ...Jump to post
So I'm flying again tomorrow. Nearly 6 hours. As a nervous flyer I absolutely hate turbulence and I get really anxious during it. So I looked at turbulence forecasts, which was a mistake, and to me it looks like it'll be bumpy. Especially from Canada and to destination I hope I'm wrong. Does anyone ...Jump to post
