Not sure its been mentioned here, but Bloomberg reported on June 6 that both JAL and ANA are in advanced talk with manufacturers for new orders. JAL is looking for A321neo and 787s while ANA is negotiating for a substantial A321neo order. 50 aircraft was mentioned for the ANA order, which ANA decli...

An A350 in Air India colors to counter Boeings B787 for Riyadh Air maybe?
With the A380 in finite numbers and the trend away from them, I was wondering if the airlines that invested in having a first class lounge would find room on the future 777-9? Also, will future 777-X have apartments? Well, Qatar Airways CEO said just a few days ago that QR would not have First Clas...

Jump to postAAB, before the IATA meeting kicking off tomorrow in Instanbul, states that there will be no F Class on their 777X aircraft because their Q Suites are more than enough. Once they retire their A380s ( 8F seats), F Class will be gone.

So we have an answer why NZ has switched its order from -10s to -9s. The -10 is not a solution for trunk routes from west coast USA to AKL. Looks as if they are now left with a longer-term issue of how to replace the 77Ws on trunk routes. The 787-10, in its current form can fly LAX-AKL with full pa...

Really? Which subsidiary?
Boeing can't satisfy demand with the current MTOW's so probably not feeling pushed. Better to await an engine PIP, and then make minimal changes. IMO the higher MTOW variants will not be pushed or labelled ER simply an IGW version. I do think an ER version will come, probably only the 10ER, and wil...

Jump to postNot sure how well those sage and gray tones are going to hold up over time. If this order takes place during the Paris Airshow June 19-25, then along with the possible WB order from TK being placed at the same time, it will be a very successful show for Airbus.
Same probably holds for Boeing too.
Well this is definitely big news for TK, they usually are behind in ordering planes for their growth plans. They just announced on KAP (the public announcement platform for public companies in Turkey) to their shareholders that they are officially in talks to purchase 600 jets with the manufacturer...
Jump to postAny word on the 787HGW? Searched high and low but only info is way back last year.
Unless they're wanting to.clear the backlog first?
May be we can look at it from the fleet availability perspective? To fly to anywhere in East Asia (SIN, BKK, HKG, ICN, TYO, PVG, etc.), the only type that can do it in IB's fleet is A359. It only has 16 in the fleet. If these 16 are well used and needed already now in key routes such as those to So...

Jump to postWhat's the current B787 production? Once they receive clearance, how many per month will they ramp up to? And, more importantly, clearing the backlog already there!
Same as with the B737MAX, still a huge backlog of parked frames.
Watch next month. Big announcement at Farnborough ordering more A350s and walking on the B787s.
There was never a feeling of excitement on the B787 order anyhow. This is my opinion only...so I could be 100% wrong.
Well, Farnborough is one month away. Will he walk on the 787s? If he does then the only option is more A350s. But, Airbus has their own bugbears on supply issues. Not guaranteed.
Jump to postCan someone give a rundown on the process Boeing has to do once they obtain clearance for deliveries? They have 120 B787s parked. Do these frames need any work before they are cleared? And if so, geez...seems will take a while to get rid??

Congratulations QF & AB!! And yes, indeed, a shot in the arm for the A350-1000. Curious to see the layout and color scheme.
Could spark interest in the A350-1000 from other carriers, namely EK. Airbus has history in constantly improving weight gains, so 319t maybe just for starters for Sunrise.
Case in point would be DXB-MNL. EK uses 385 seat B777ERs 3x daily on the route. Plus there are service from PR and the "cattle car" 5J.
Jump to post12 for EK alone. IIRC a total of 21 overall. By the time 2025 rolls around, will those already built B777x's be marketable. As STC commented, those are 7 year old used aircraft!!
Jump to postCan the DPA be overturned? DOJ refused to do so before, but would be a great day for the families and relatives lost if it happened.
Crikey! As if Boeing needs another headache!
Will be interesting to see what EK does now with the reported EIS of 2025?
A few weeks ago STC was saying that if the 777X was delayed longer than 2024, he'd be looking to cancel.

What were his redeeming features that qualified his hiring? AFAIK, he made money at Click, that's,about it. So why was he deemed suitable for the main carrier of IAG???
Seeing as F on BA is only 8 seats, high premiun demand is marginal. Why run your 787-9s and 787-10s with F, but not your supposedly "flagship" aircraft? Additionally, 787-9s at BA only have a total of 216 seats, their 787-10s clock in at 256. Even their 773s are only 275, and this is a mod...
