So, it appears the plane climbs back into the sky at the end of this. What's worse? The initial bad landing or a decision (after wheels are on the ground) to fly with undetermined wing damage. I would honestly be surprised if the cockpit crew either felt or heard the scimitar scraping. So they like...
Jump to postAll approaches become straight-ins at some point to meet the stabilized approach criteria, about 1,000’ AGL. Except this one, of course. Jump to postThe FA’s uniform is a massive step backwards from their current ones. Yuk. Having worked for BA many moons ago one of the items I loved were their uniforms. My FA friends who are still there are not amused. And that’s an understatement.

I have something to mention that no one has done yet. We know that UA/EK have a codeshare coming on flights soon. I think this will mean UA will be updating their 787-9/-10 and 777's with very premium cabins that will give similar service to EK. It will mean the domestic F/C service won't even come...
Jump to postI wouldn’t put it past them of pulling this one of. The appetite for tourism bolstering is staggering. Add plenty of wealth and space to it and this will become a reality. And quicker than you think. Qatar has space but not enough planes for now. EK has no space and thus no additional lift capacity ...
Jump to postI read of some US based crew flying 160 hours a month. Is this true? What is generally min and max? This is absolutely true. At my airline there are some F/A's who fly a west coast turn from their east coast base 6 x week (think NYC-LAX-NYC or NYC-SFO-NYC several days in a row). They average 225 hr...

Nothing new regarding the B777X. The A350s will be starting to come in by May 2024. Oh wow. I was under the impression the A350’s were coming in from mid 2023. Can’t find the link where I read this. I would assume a lot of FlyDubai routes are for O&D traffic to and from Dubai.
I think Emirates doesn’t even fly to DOH yet and flydubai only has 3 daily flights between Dubai and Doha. Before EK flew even their A380 and it was a mega busy route pair with close to 30 daily flights. Now just 3 by flydubai and 3 by Qatar. Why?

EK is a global airline that connects people to far flung corners of the world. Canada is a country whose economy is heavily buoyed by immigrants from every part of the globe. Jump to postHi, I am unable to elaborate on the exact specifics of the galley area - All I know from talking to crewmembers is that galley space is much reduced and they struggle with the tiny space. Jump to postWhy would they 'target Emirates A380' with this? First of all Emirates has a hundred plus 777s that are big enough and more importantly if they really were targeting Emirates A380 ops they could just say 'we have no A380 capable gates at TLV' and call it a day. Not the only airport on the planet th...

Jump to postOne thing that cements it has a valid business case too is that some airlines can only grown by adding seats per slot at their hub. Jump to postI think they do that via flydubai. Don’t think they bother with their own frames. Not sure why though Interesting, they used to pre blockade! I think FlyDubai has taken on more of a closer alignment with EK since those times, and it likely is a better use of assets flying 737’s on such a short rout...

On top of 4 daily flydubai departures with MAX 8 & 9 that is one busy route!
How does that work with the 28 weekly slots on that route? flydubai is not decreasing their 4 daily departures so what gives in…?
No news yet of the impending order for 60 A220’s?
Jump to postWith airline using tons of Max -8 and -9 does Boeing really need the aggravation of the Max -10 ? The -9 is already huge and flying. Boeing needs a new small plane not a bigger 737. Jump to postNo way a 737-10 could do ATL-JAC (757 route) It could do ATL-JAC without a problem. It's the JAC-ATL leg that might be a problem. If I look at the 737-MAX 9 ACAP document (1) we can see that for JAC (6,300 ft. runway at elevation of 6451 ft), the TOW for a 737-MAX 9 would be about 128,000 lb out of...

Jump to postI’m sure I just read up thread that that the MAX 9 climb performance is pretty decent……. As a PIC on the -800, MAX 8&9 I can tell you the MAX can’t keep up with the -800 in a climb. Jump to postMakes sense for EK to try that triangle as QR flies to Maputo with the A350 and TAP offers a direct Europe connection on their A339. But it’s a lot of seats to fill.
