american airlines aa300 jfk-lax clips sign on depature

I am curious of what sign they could have clipped down the runway. It is only an airbus 321 and not a airbus 380 and they were going down runway 31L. Do you think that much crosswind could have down this? First time post so forgive me if i made a mistake somewhere. https://abc7ny.com/aa-flight-retur...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines 737MAX crashes enroute to Nairobi

Can these problems with the 737Max danger Boeing's future? No, as even if the 2nd crash is MCAS related, the issue can most likely be mitigated with a software fix. Everybody knows that basic 737 design is 50 years old, and age shows when new features are implemented.. A Software fix doesn't always...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines 737MAX crashes enroute to Nairobi

That is a bad point. Double check the alatitude of the airport and you will find how low the plane was actually flying above the land I was thinking the same thing with the terrain. I wonder how high the terrain in that area around the airport is since all the other flights do go up fast and do a r...

Re: AA should consider launching flights to Asia from JFK

American airllines has one world partners and codeshares that fly out of JFK to asia. I am sure they don't want confilct with their routes. What would be the point of having a partner if you are taking all of the passengers and america is american airlines turf. You ressurected a thread that had be...

Re: Can Long Island Airport (ISP) be NYC Stansted Airport?

ISP is hurt by geography being on an island - the catchment area is narrower compared to STN. Also two airports (LGA + JFK) are in between it and Manhattan. You don't travel past another airport going to Central London from STN. I think ISP could a good alternative to LGA, JFK, EWR. SWF, HPN, ISP a...

Re: Should airline regulators consider grounding B737 MAX series

There is no evidence to go on yet. It would take another one or two crashes with similar results in a short timelime to make a call like that. BUTTTTTT if i were the airline operator i would put my order of new planes on HOLD pending the results of this investigation and the lion air investigation. ...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines 737MAX crashes enroute to Nairobi

Flight ended at 8600' according to flightradar24. If accurate, it's not the same profile as the previous MAX accident...more like CFIT. Good point, but there is loss of altitude in the climb phase, and while troubleshooting that they could have ended in (seemingly) controlled flight into terrain. T...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines 737MAX crashes enroute to Nairobi

I'm saddened to hear about this. As unlikely as it may be, I hope there are survivors. Below is a screenshot of the flight radar data for those who haven't looked at the FR24 link upthread. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1SRr8fW0AAqvOy.jpg (Taken from this tweet) https://twitter.com/flightradar24/sta...
