Re: AS1282 PDX-ONT decompression event, returned to PDX, FAA temporarily grounds 737MAX9 for inspections

The European Media are quick to explain how the 737 MAX is getting a bad name. French newspaper Le Figaro calls it "Boeing's cursed aircraft" - https://www.lefigaro.fr/economie/fuselage-detache-crashs-interdiction-de-vol-le-737-max-l-avion-maudit-de-boeing-20240107 The BBC calls it "A...

A380 experimental flight between TLS and NCE on a cooking oil mix

Airbus has been working for some time with Total to test out SAF - Sustainable Aviation Fuel. On Tuesday they tested it out on an A380 between TLS and NCE, testing several go-arounds before landing, each time collecting full data about the aircraft's performance. Article (in French) in local paper: ...

Re: British Airways tilts against reclining seats

Not many people on this thread have picked up on the fact that BA are also adding more rows & seats to each A319/320/321. BA call it "Densification" program.... More and More seats....less and less space. The densification of 2014 has already made a mess of aircraft. On full flights o...

Re: BA applies to use Qatari aircraft to cover strike

The aircraft swap has caused a bit of a problem for Club pax since the QR A320s only have 12 business class seats (3 rows) whilst the BA A320 often have more. I've been on one such flight from NCE & ended up being seated in an emergency exit that was completely blocked off for me, plus unlimited...

Re: Sunday Times Article: ‘Anyone but British Airways’: turbulent times at the nation’s flag carrier

The Sunday Times article is spot on. And if you think BA's in trouble only at the front of the aircraft, look at the back too. Their economy product, especially in short haul, is below Easyjet both on seat pitch, food to purchase, and how to purchase it - they only accept payment by credit card &...

NCE has reached its design capacity of 12M. Last time I visited I saw some work being done at T2 (possibly extending the check-in area). But nothing I'm aware of regarding T1 which is becoming totally inadequate given the traffic growth. They are well aware of the problem. T1 has completed a major ...

I suppose this means a change of terminal for EK that operates from T1. Only T2 has A380 compatible gate. I am told they're switching temrinals in June. It's about time because T1 gets really overcrowded in the summer. In the past months, there's also been a lot of work around that gate (Gate 54) i...

I feel nervous about this design already. Ideally on a flight, I'd like my head and face to go on a part of the seat that usually has heads & faces resting on it. Looking at the diagram, it looks like my head could be resting on the seat itself, hence where bums & feet have gone (the diagram...
