Re: Possible new routes for Volaris or VivaAerobus within Mexico

Just found out that Cancun - Los Cabos is completely unserved. These are two of the busiest airports in Mexico, can't imagine there isn't any demand. Maybe they should try that one. AeroMexico, Volaris, VivaAerobus, and Interjet always have flights between Mexico City and Guadalajara, so I think Vo...

Re: Volaris cancels ABQ-CUU Flights

There is no way of doing a SAN-TIJ bridge in ELP-CJS even if they wanted. In Tijuana the Airport is right next to the border which is a very unique and privileged situation. The Airport in Juarez is 16 miles from the border. Two very different situations. Every time I've gone to the US from Mexico ...

Re: Possible new routes for Volaris or VivaAerobus within Mexico

I don't see a TIJ-LAS flight anytime soon, especially since Southwest flies LAS-SAN. But since TIJ has the CBX bridge, I could imagine passengers using it to cross into the US instead of using the crossing from Tijuana into San Isidro. If one wants to go to San Diego from Las Vegas, it would make mo...

Possible new routes for Volaris or VivaAerobus within Mexico

Now that Volaris is no longer flying into Albuquerque, I think we should discuss some possible domestic routes that have yet to be flown by either Volaris, VivaAerobus, or Interjet. I'm writing this because I think there may be potential for adding such routes. Recently Volaris added GDL-DGO, CUU-QR...

Re: Volaris cancels ABQ-CUU Flights

I wonder if there are big markets for these routes within Mexico (operated by Volaris or Viva):

– CJS - TRC
– TRC - BJX
– CUU - BJX
– GDL - MZT
– CJS - QRO

Also I think Volaris should fly into Piedras Negras from Guadalajara.

Re: Volaris cancels ABQ-CUU Flights

I would imaginé the terminal would become no bigger than BJX because CJS doesn't have as many flights as GDL. Regarding a taxiways, both CJS and BJX have taxis that connect with the runway, and planes that take off from either airport have to taxi partway down the runway, then make a 180° turn befor...

Re: Volaris cancels ABQ-CUU Flights

The problem most people don't get about ABQ-Mexico is that the VFR market just isn't that strong. What I think will work from ABQ is MEX with onward connects. A daily AeroMexico E190 or maybe even 737 to MEX would be perfect. Unfortunately MEX is capacity constrained, the new president is trying to...

Re: Volaris cancels ABQ-CUU Flights

Now that Volaris won't fly into Albuquerque anymore, is there a possibility of Interjet or VivaAerobus flying non-stop into Albuquerque from Mexico? If Interjet did so they would definitely fly ABQ-MEX. VivaAerobus could do ABQ-GDL, ABQ-CUU, ABQ-MEX, and ABQ-MTY.

Re: Did Volaris cancel the Albuquerque-Guadalajara route?

I don't do GDL/BJX-IAH/DFW-ABQ because it's more expensive, and Houston and Dallas are also out of the way. I like to take more direct routes.

Re: Did Volaris cancel the Albuquerque-Guadalajara route?

It would be nice to have Volaris to ELP from CUU. And ELP ABQ. Thinking about a number of years ago multiple flights between the two cities on WN, CO, DL, WA, F9 ( old & new).... today, only buses. I remember when Southwest flew ABQ-ELP. In early 2001 when my family and I went to San Antonio, w...

Re: Did Volaris cancel the Albuquerque-Guadalajara route?

Anyways, here are some routes within Mexico I think would be feasible for Volaris to operate:

- Ciudad Juárez — Torreón
- Chihuahua — León/Bajío
- Torreón — León/Bajío or Torreón — Mexico City
- Ciudad Juárez — Querétaro
- Guadalajara — Piedras Negras

Re: Did Volaris cancel the Albuquerque-Guadalajara route?

I'm noticing Volaris is no longer offering ABQ-CUU flights. However, I was on the CUU-ABQ flight last Tuesday, which operated an A320neo. If Volaris cancels the ABQ-CUU route, might as well fly into CJS, cross the border, and then take a bus from El Paso to Albuquerque.

Re: Did Volaris cancel the Albuquerque-Guadalajara route

Recently when I was looking for flights between Guadalajara and Albuquerque, I noticed that after 3 June 2019, I couldn't find the non-stop flights that were offered. Going from GDL to ABQ, now you have switch planes in DEN and have a 6 hour layover there, and fly to ABQ on Frontier. And if you wan...

I'd probably see another 737NG get the new livery next, maybe a 73G, another 738, or a 739.

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery released

http://www.cardatabase.net/modifiedairlinerphotos/search/photo_search.php?id=00013783 I did a concept livery back in 2010 for the post-merger United. What I did was incorporate elements of Continental and United but mostly the latter. The only "Continental-esque" aspects were a solid light...

Re: B737 MAX should it stay or should it go?

It would be sad to see the 737 MAX go, but that may mean Boeing would have to design a new airplane from scratch. However, if any modifications were made to the 737 MAX, I wonder if raising it a bit higher off the ground (giving the plane the same ground clearance as the A320) would work. Other idea...

- 1993-2004: battleship
- 2004-2010: rising blue, blue tulip
- 2010-2019: globe

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery released

I just saw photos of the new livery, and I absolutely love it. I never liked the previous one at all because it looked too Continental (it continued using gold for the cheat-line between the belly and upper fuselage and for the globe on the tail). But even though the globe is here to stay, I like ho...

Re: Why did VivaAerobus choose Airbus A320 over Boeing 737-800

Frontier is another airline that used to operate 737s and now has an all-Airbus fleet (they're even phasing out their A319s and selling them to American). US Airways was a loyal Airbus customer after it was rebranded from USAir until the merger with American (but continued operating Boeing aircraft)...

Why did VivaAerobus choose Airbus A320 over Boeing 737-800

A bit of an introduction: I'm from the United States but I've been living in Mexico for almost 3 years, and I've flown domestically within both countries. In the U.S. I flew with Southwest, United, and Hawaiian. In Mexico I've only flown on Volaris and VivaAerobus. My first time I flew with VivaAero...

Re: B737MAX Grounded Worldwide

It is ridiculous that people are thinking the MAX is a flawed design. The only issue that I can see that Boeing screwed up on is the MCAS system which will be fix and the MAX WILL return to the skies. The MAX design is fine, it is aerodynamically stable in normal flight. But once the MAX is in a st...

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

I liked the concepts, especially the rhapsody blue cheat line and globe tinted in blue, and I hope that'll be the new livery. I used to dislike the globe myself, but now I realized that it's the gold color that I dislike in United's current livery.

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

Better concept than the eurowhite, but I would put the blue on the belly of the plane, engines, and winglets, and put a purple swoosh (similar to the livery used for the 787 and 737 MAX) above the blue, put "UNITED" in blue, and stars above the globe.

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

I'm happy that United is finally updating its livery after nearly nine years of continuing the 1991 Continental livery but with the United name. I initially thought they were also going to introduce a new logo from scratch, like American and Southwest did respectively in 2013 and 2014. The Continen...
