Re: SAS new livery?

https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/7/0/4/5656407.jpg?v=v46254dae8e3 So what color is that officially? Has it always been beige like? Kind of smart, the plane will not look dirty, especially with all of the deicing in the Scandinavian area. While I like the old livery, I find the planes ...

Re: Effects of Trop Storm Imelda on IAH/HOU

This is just life in Houston. It rains, hard, and some places build up some water. Other places are fine. Slowed me down to 60mph a couple times on my way to and from the office, that was it, and I live on the north side. JFK blvd into the airport was flooded for a couple hours, then cleared up. I h...

Re: United going after hidden-city travellers

I simply do not understand why so many of you suck at the teats of airlines. If UA doesn't suit you, fly another. Vote with your pocket and you will see how soon any company changes its tune. Live by IAH and then tell me that... So you are telling me that UA is the only airline that flies out of IA...

Re: United going after hidden-city travellers

Distance-based pricing, or as some tried zone pricing was a flop in the U.S. because it made things like key and popular transcons more expensive. Gone were the sub $299 round trips. Seat pricing should always be dynamic and should be based on more important factors like market supply vs demand and...

Re: A UA 767 at DFW?

It was nasty here yesterday evening. I tried posting a photo, but no luck... Interestingly, on Sunday a storm was coming in, a 757 flew directly over my house at 1500 ft, heading straight north. The airport is east of me, and planes are normally 4-6000 ft when they pass over me heading directly east...

Re: Barcelona plane spotter throws rock onto active taxiway

You missed my point completely. Spotters in general are fine people. My point was that these young people are not spotters. Spotters would never throw FOD on a taxiway. I don’t think of you or any other enthusiast as a criminal or vandal. I do think that throwing rocks on a taxiway qualifies for th...

Re: “Dear American Airlines, I Hate You With My Whole Heart.” writes disgruntled traveler

I simulated a booking using the AA.com website. The route is LAX-MIA-LAX, using a fare called Main Cabin, which is like Economy class, but with less restrictions than the basic fare that this guy on the post paid. Certainly over 150U$S more expensive (578$rt vs 423$rt). When you come to the last pa...

Re: “Dear American Airlines, I Hate You With My Whole Heart.” writes disgruntled traveler

Why? What difference does it make for the airline, what is the perjury, that this person didn't fly the VLC-MAD route? At the end of the day, it happened something good to Iberia. One less passenger to feed, to carry, less airport taxes to pay, less fuel consumed in the airline, and eventually one ...

Re: Confirmed: Air Canada to buy Air Transat

I have never been a fan of Air Transat. It screams "1990 holiday flight". Maybe they should change the name to Air Quebec and focus on YUL. Something like Ryanair and Lauda (Austria/Germany). Although I know that would be hard because of politics, it would be interesting they keep two dif...

Re: B6 to move from HOU(Hobby) to IAH on Oct. 27th

This was in a leaked post a while back that was deleted. I’m assuming B6 would rather compete with UA fares than WN fares. B6 has no problem competing with WN in many other routes and WN doesn't even fly from NYC so I don't think your assumption is correct. My suspicion is that IAH attracts higher ...

Re: Paris Air Show 2019: Boeing News and Orders Thread

Absolutely astonished by this IAG order. Absolitely out of nowhere, seemingly. I don't see these going to BA but I could absolutely see EI replacing their A320, 752 and A321 fleet with 738/A321XLR. Also Level and Vuelling. Struggling to see IB going 737 for the narrowbody fleet but stranger things ...

Re: What happened to the Delta and United 747 pilots?

Also, I find it impossible that any 756 pilot rotation is built with a TCON followed by another leg on the same duty day (BOS-SFO-LAS), unless that rotation breaks regularly. Inflight I can see. Are these pilot rotations or inflight rotations you’re using as examples? This is the root cause of our ...

I love flying UA's 767s. Most comfortable economy class there is for TATL, and even better now that they're getting Polaris and Premium Plus. I agree! love flying 767. Will be on one later this month, but only to IAD. now, JAL 767? no thanks. and the ANA 787 was much more comfortable t...

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery released

I'm a fan. I think they did a good job keeping the heritage branding but making it look not-dated. Munoz continues to impress in his improvement and unwinding of the Smisek disaster. I agree on the livery, I'm a fan. The swoop and colors look more modern than the old livery. Looks sharp on the 744,...

Re: Delta to serve Mumbai nonstop in 2019

As much as the stars were aligning for this at the start of 2019, they are rapidly falling into disarray. To wit: Delta had a solid plan to decongest crowded hubs at CDG and AMS by pulling transfer traffic onto its own overflying metal, and then rely on 9W for connections on the other end, meanwhil...
