Re: United Fleet/Network Thread - 2019

I don’t know how many of you follow Zach Honig of The Points Guy on Instagram, but I noticed on his story that he was flying on a 737 with the new first class seats. I’m pretty sure it was a 737-700 because those are the only 737s that have gotten the new seats but it got me wondering does UA plan o...

Re: DL/AA complimentary meals in economy class

I understand that DL and AA offer free meals onboard some of their domestic flights. Which ones? Do you get free alcohol too? Not on UA I know. Actually United does offer free meals in economy plus on transcon flights from EWR to SFO and LAX. I believe they offer it in regular Econ as well on the E...

Re: And the Skytrax airline of the year is ..

The list of the top 100 I have questioned for a long time, mostly because I don’t know the criteria. I find the value in Skytrax if you dig into each individual award, best in each class and the subsections in each class. Those decisions make a lot more sense to me and is what people should go based...

General question- why doesn’t UA repaint all of their already delivered MAX’s while it won’t further interrupt flight scheduling? (Not to say they are moving forward with any other types at a blazing pace either) They would if their goal was a fast repaint, but they said they would do it over the n...

The first 737max in the new United livery is now out of the shop, I got pictures of it. It’s not a great picture as I took a photo of the camera screen, I wanted to make sure I was the first to post it. I will make sure to upload a better version tonight, but here it is for now... https://twitter.c...

Re: SAS new livery?

The image looks like it hints at an all-blue or black fuselage, which could look pretty cool. I always welcome new ideas for a livery, so that prospect excites me. However, no text on that page hinted at a new scheme for the fleet, and it almost seemed like that A350 image was inserted at the end a...

Is it possible that Etihad might announce and make official its long-rumored joining of star alliance at the air show? Seems like it might be a good place to do so with many if not all of the member airlines and some execs likely to be there.

Re: United Fleet/Network Thread - 2019

I think that the blue on the swoop doesn't fit well with the whole livery. I wished they used the blue on the engines for the swoop, it would have looked more cohesive. I think that would have been too much of that blue. I agree it doesn't look very cohesive, I think a better solution would have be...

I don’t know if this would happen at the air show but I expect United to order the E 195 e2 as a replacement for the 737-700s and their really old a319 and a320s. Those planes are getting really old and will need to start the replacement cycle in the next few years. The E2 program or whatever it mi...

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery released

Check this out, I've been checking for a while but they are finally up. Boeing makes 3D computer models of each airline livery on each plane that their customers have and that they still sell. They finally updated the United livery, so you can now see what it looks like on the 777, 787, 737, and 737...

I'm still waiting for Leff's last AA interior rumor to come true. I don't know if the new seats can even be retrofitted for screens. They certainly would have to be modified. With dozens of aircraft already with new seats and many more imminently coming, this is more like a pipe dream than a rumor....

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery released

It is growing on me. However, I am disappointed at the lack of purple. A small touch somewhere (winglets?) would have been truly unique and identifying. A blue, purple, gold livery would have been lovely. The light blue is fairly jarring, and I do not think, particularly on-brand. Why they chose th...

I think they really did a nice job on the tail especially with that gradient, the image of the close up tail at the end of the video is fire. If you look closely and freeze the frame where they are peeling off the tape on the tail, it seems like both shades of United’s blue on their color pállate is there, so at least it won’t be just one shade of blue and then white. I don’t see that. What is the timing in the video? At 0:12 it looks li...

FWIW, it looks like UA is hosting a Brand event for employees in Chicago on April 24th. How do you know?
