Ok. Thanks so much! There's a club near me that allows you to train only paying for rentals and tows, but you have to be a member, which has dues, etc. Might need a paying job for that. :(

Here's a dumb question for you. Is it possible that if there was a fire near an area where a glider was flying (assuming this glider has water ballast) the glider pilot, being a Good Samaritan, could fly over and drop his load of ballast, and (assuming the field was near by) get back to the field?

BWI has the Dixon park, in addition to the option of spotting from one of the garages. Never been to the garage yet but I would love to get some photos there. All the Anet shots from BWI that I know of are from the Dixon park.

I know it sounds absurd, but what happens to American Airlines if the economy goes south and people stop putting big spending on their AA credit cards? After all the financial reports are pretty clear that AA is being propped up by AAdvantage. No competitive advantage, a strong reliance on business...

In pmUA days flights in the 800 series were transpacific & 900 series were transatlantic but for the most part domestic flights were whatever was available in a particular range of flights. There are a few easter eggs out there that are not so random: UA500 IND-SFO UA777 LAS-DEN UA1776 IAH-PHL ...

I’ve just seen Etihad A-380 (A6-APJ) from Abu Dhabi nonstop to New York/JFK turn around just after passing Iceland . What’s the reason why ? Medical would have rerouted to KEF and it was only 3:30 from JFK so why fly 2 hours to MAN instead ???? If the field can't handle an A380, they won't go there...
