Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2020

As I pointed out above, I am driving to JFK to catch a flight to Bali this Summer because it saves me upwards of $300 per ticket depending on class of service. And i'm avoiding flying thru China which would be even cheaper. As an example, Premium Economy on SQ from JFK is cheaper than anything from...

Interesting juxtaposition - indicative of a larger trend of US-Asia traffic connecting via HKG alternatives, e.g., TPE, to CX's detriment.

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

I could see DL re-adding DFW-BOS nonstop service since (a) DL served DFW nonstop from BOS back when DL had a hub at DFW, (b) DL has added some other domestic nonstop routes out of BOS in recent years in order to better compete against B6 in the BOS market, (c) DFW is one of the top destinations tha...

Thanks again enilria for delivering this so early. Thanks enilria! Lots of B6 additions at BOS compared to last summer. +1 to ACK/LAX/SAN/SFO/SJC/SEA/DEN/PHX. Looks like LAX/SEA coincide with some AS reductions. LAX is the only Mint addition while SAN/SFO/SEA get more all-Core capacity. Has B6 ever done more than 1x daily on BOS-SJC? That was one a...

Any sense of how time to clear immigration would have compared with Global Entry?

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

I don't buy this theory that B6 fares will be cheap. I don't see B6 going into this expensive TATL venture and then leave money on the table. they will charge what the market bares which is essentially what everyone else is doing. To extrapolate what happened domestically and expect the same in the...

Re: Norwegian Air Fights for Survival

How does the Norwegian makeup of many subsidiary airlines factor into this? Could Norwegian in Europe go bust, but Norwegian Argentina still stay in operation? (that would be a bit ironic) Could someone explain the relationship and differences among DI, DY and D8? I see all three of them...

Re: HURRICANE DORIAN Cancellations, Deviations, and Aftereffects Thread

JetBlue (B6) appears to have 2 more en route to NAS: B6421 ( https://flightaware.com/live/flight/JBU421 ) and B6621 ( https://flightaware.com/live/flight/JBU621 ). What are they thinking, with 2 diversions already? Could these be relief flights already, getting people in position? B6 621 diverted t...

https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2019/0902/1073240-norwegian-air-bonds/ Norwegian wishes to delay repayment of bonds. Offer landing slots as security. I'm not sure that if I were a bondholder I'd like this as they could burn through a lot of cash between now and then and landing slots at Heathrow w...

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

Unless it’s changed in recent months Qatar was relegated to The Club in the basement and not the BA lounge. Where does TAM go? Not quite a OW lounge Agree, and QR lounge usage has not changed, AFAIK - "effectively" was meant to apply to all 3 alliance lounges. QR's one world membership is...

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

But if I had to venture a guess, I'd say AF and VS will be given first pick. For one, I happen to know of a certain carrier moving to E eventually that would love their own lounge by the narrow body gates, where AF is now. But also it just seems to be the way massport works. Be a loyal tenant, and ...

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

It'll be interesting to see who takes the new club space in the E expansion? Per the plans, there's space for 4 airline clubs. BA and LH already have their new clubs about E10-12 and EK added one in Boston. Maybe Boston will get a Centurion Lounge? Hmm - would be nice to see. Amex is strongly align...
