Re: Next wave of TATL per Boyd Group

JAX and RIC would be my top two picks as an A321 Neo LR can reach both cities, each has a strong Corporate presence, and both airports are growing rapidly in term of pax traffic. Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Jamestown are all 40 miles from RIC. JAX has a lot of tourist options down the coa...

With respect to DAB... it’s stuck in the middle... between JAX (the fastest-growing airport in North America) and SFB where G4, having sorted out their fleet issues, is growing as well. JAX grew quite a bit from 2017 to 2018 and continues double digit growth into 2019 however will it last? Just a c...

Re: Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) posts record month!

I just flew JAX-FLL this past Friday for business and was astonished by how busy it was at midday. I typically fly out first thing in the morning, but had later meetings. The terminals and security were PACKED at this time of day. Never have seen it this busy ever in my hundreds of times flying out ...

Re: Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) posts record month!

Just curious, what's driving this growth? Growing O&D or VFR? Jacksonville isn't exactly the tourist destination the rest of coastal Florida is so good for them for such large numbers growth. I think there are several reasons. Here are some potential ones: The robust economy. This is causing gr...

Re: Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) posts record month!

Just saw that JAX selected an architect for the new terminal..seems like they are moving fast on this. They only announced a couple months ago that they were going to adding a terminal B?

Re: Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) posts record month!

As of tomorrow 5/1 the Frontier JAX-LAS flights are now daytime flights. F9 2043 is JAX-LAS 9:08AM-11:56AM and F9 2042 is LAS-JAX 1:35PM-8:53PM. Good to see this switched from the redeye coming from LAS. Alot of the F9 routes have survived their notorious cuts, all the routes must be doing decent. ...

Re: Delta & MCO ...what next?

Data from Form 41 International by the DOT suggests the MCO/AMS city pair averaged a LF in the mid 80's. While LF isn't a complete measurement of a flights success, it speaks for itself with MCO being a regular out station. MCO ranks high when it comes to ASM's for outstations and amount of daily f...

Re: Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) posts record month!

Flew in and out of JAX for the first time earlier this year and I was very impressed. Lovely airport from the passenger perspective. Yes, the "new" JAX is great. Did you have the pleasure of flying out of the old facility? Night and day difference. My only grip w/ JAX is its distance from...

Re: South Florida Aviation Thread - 2019

Just out of curiousity, does FLL have the most AC flights/seats in their Florida network? I would imagine MCO is very close. I believe YUL and MIA send multiple 763's daily. Also would be interesting to know how Florida cities stack up against other cities in AC's US network in terms of number of f...

Re: Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) posts record month!

Happy to hear about the growth at JAX. This certainly is a good justification for the airport expansion that was recently announced. I wonder if they have any info on which airlines in particular are responsible for the most growth And a 25% YOY increase is certainly worth posting about. Very few a...

Re: Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) posts record month!

I think more LAS service and maybe PHX are more likely adds before LAX/SFO. There’s not a whole lot of demand from CA and AA/UA have connected most of CA to DEN/DFW Yes, a daily Wn flight to PHX/LAS would work. As far as pax to California, I think both SFO and LAX are 200+ PDEW..so the nonstop flig...

Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) posts record month!

See below from the Jacksonville Business Journal: "More passengers flew through Jacksonville International Airport in March than any month in the airport's 50-year history. Almost 665,000 passengers passed through the airport last month. The airport's passenger count in March continues 18 strai...

Re: United MCO hub?

Keep in mind, especially in the state of Florida and Southeast US, UA has the smallest presence of the US3's.. Thats an uphill battle right there...Florida especially is DL and AA country along with every LCC. They would have to invest heavily in MCO over years to make it work. My 2 cents.
