Re: Boeing 737MAX Grounded Worldwide Q3 2019

The fact that some posters on here are saying the pilots are partly to blame just proves that the MAX was a complete dog to fly. If it was the same as an NG as Boeing sold it, then any pilot good or bad wouldn't have crashed it. Are you people dumb? I rather agree with this for the most part. Boein...

Re: Boeing 737MAX Grounded Worldwide Q3 2019

Just a note on accessing New York Times articles. While you cannot use 'private' or 'incognito' modes anymore, you are allowed about 4 articles a month (and each browser can do so, I keep a couple on my desk-top, also iPhone). I noticed that about the New York Times recently. I regularly use Chrome...

Re: WTO green lights tariffs on Airbus, Trump ready.

Remember that this is just about the case the US started against Europe, where the WTO now rules this can happen. It doesn't mean the WTO has 'picked sides' in the subsidies row between Boeing / US and Airbus / EU. There's another case working its way through the WTO that the EU started against the...

This is a surprise. Despite the problems, Boeing is not suffering badly as of yet.

Re: Something wrong with Boeing's safety culture?

https://www.fool.com/investing/2019/04/13/boeing-crushes-airbus-q1-aircraft-orders-737-max.aspx It would appear that so far Boeing hasn't suffered a great deal during this fiasco. During the first quarter of 2019 Boeing still beat Airbus in orders. Airbus has lost more orders this year than Boeing h...

Re: Something wrong with Boeing's safety culture?
What is overdue is a discussion of corporations (didn't exist when the US constitution was written), the economy, the legal system, and life in general
Corporations are much older. Primitive forms of corporations existed in Roman times and the first legal entities as known today ca...

Re: Boeing 737MAX Grounded Worldwide Q2 2019

Boeing and the FAA need to work extra overtime to correct the wrongs that led to this. No plane, redesigned or new design, should ever leave the ground for human passenger purposes without a full testing regimen completed and certified. I believe this should be the standard everywhere on the planet.

Re: Something wrong with Boeing's safety culture?

If you need to compare Boeing with Airbus, it shows that Boeing is in a crisis. Boeing should be the unchallenged global leader in commercial aviation . Hmm. they had their time ( mostly on borrowed IP ) when no viable competition was available. US dominance was a post WWII "trashed European i...

Re: Something wrong with Boeing's safety culture?

The best bit of this thread is that statement. Not sure why you feel Boeing should or ever will again be the "unchallenged global leader", there are essentially no industries where one company carries a monopoly.
But Boeing is the leader. It is by a significant margin the world's l...
