Re: Delta Widebody Thread - 2019

Following continued harassment and bullying from the usual suspects, I've decided to change the format of the reporting. I will now do this weekly and have more of a highlights theme rather than attempt to be 100% fully encompassing of all events happening within the widebody fleet. I agree with ev...

Re: Southeast Asia Aviation Thread - 2019

More like summoned by police. Garuda and Lion Air now have issued some restrictions on taking photos/videos on flights citing privacy of staff and other passengers. I personally think you don't have much privacy on a plane as it is a public space...unless its in the lavatory. Plus most influencers/...

Correct, and only 16 remain out of the original 34. By March 2020, according to the most recent SQ Annual Report, the A330 fleet should drop to 8.

Re: Garuda Indonesia Management Madness (Camera banned)

I don’t agree with GA’s response here but does anyone else think it was quite nice of the cabin crew to go to the effort of handwriting the menu so the passenger at least had something? I’m sure it was a one off that they ran out of menus. I completely agree... while GA mgmt is a mess, GA inflight ...

Re: Southeast Asia Aviation Thread - 2019

On a separate note about Garuda, they replaced their CGK-LHR-DPS routing on the 777 with a DPS-KNO-LHR-KNO-DPS routing on the A332, starting yesterday. Flight numbers remain GA 86/87. Perhaps another sign of management incompetence? Their LHR strategy has changed a few times in just the last six yea...

I'm assuming the 764s going to LHR will be the newly refurbished ones.

Looks like SEA-PVG on the A330NEO is starting tomorrow. About five days early. I saw that! I can't believe that no one has done a cabin reveal on this, considering the reconfigured A330 will be the most common international ride for the next 20 years at DL. Has anyone seen anything? Is it normal for "maintenance and heavy refurbishments" to take almost 7 months to complete? (...) New cabins get installed when the plane gets stripped to the bones for normal heavy MX checks so yes 6 months is a good time frame especially when fitting a new cabin into a new plane. (...)...

Re: Garuda to close London again, reduce Amsterdam

Garuda has an upcoming 787 order right? That might help them. They also have their low-cost carrier Citilink and they recently took control of Sriwijaya Air, so those may be factors as to their current situation. Nope, no 787 orders. They did sign a LoI back in the 2015 Paris Air Show for 30 787-9s...

Re: Garuda to close London again, reduce Amsterdam

This is pretty sad for GA. Apparently their onboard product was very good. I guess GA had the wrong jets, and to an extent was in the wrong market (and not to mention had to compete with Singapore Airlines). And of course, like almost all markets in the region, GA has political requirements that it...

BWN, PVG and BOM only. 9V-SYF on SQ241/242 to SYD today was a one-off — usually operated by the ...
